“The tribe planned to use profits from those businesses to invest in research and development of advanced “smart guns” — those with fingerprint “

Stick to gouging casino customers.

I find it ironic that an Indian tribe would prefer to sell guns to the government that subjugated it with guns, rather than to private citizens so they could protect themselves against any potential government subjugation.

The Intelligence Community has a longstanding special relationship with the Navajo Nation.

Smells a little spooky.

They should have sold it to them with one caveat - no bailouts in any way, shape or form should they fail. Let them go broke and a real buyer pick up the pieces pennies on the dollar.

Smart guns - if someone knocks me down to steal it, they will steal my hand too.
No thanks.

Smart guns will require batteries.
I know how well my flashlights work if I don't use them for 6 months.
No thanks.

They will contain a computer.
When I have an intruder in the house, I will not have time to wait for it to boot up, ask for password and download a software update before I can use it.
No thanks.

There is already something to prevent cars from being stolen.
It's called keys. Does not seem to help much.
I have no reason to believe smart guns will be any more reliable.
No thanks.

So the Navajo nation wants only the U.S. government to have guns?

Is this from the Sacramento Bee?

Not trading guns with the indians has been policy for centuries.

This tells me that the Navajo Nation has now become a bastion of Progressivism and is therefore a domestic enemy of the Constitution of these United States.

Many of the Remington patents are nearly priceless.

Some of the finest and most iconic sporting arms in American history are Remington. With careful, precise manufacturing they could very well be at the top of the heap.

Navajo Nation’s Cash Offer to Purchase Remington Outdoor is Rightly Rejected

Anyone who sells rifles to Injuns is lower than a horse thief and should get the same hangin'.
