It was preplanned either way. If Trump went against Putin the media would be howling that Trump didn’t win the election fair and square.

No matter what Trump does now or has done in the past, if the media sees an opportunity to label it a “bad” they will, it’s in their DNA. Reminds me of a bunch of little children.
We can always depend on Ann Coulter’s cogent, perceptive analysis. If we could only get our elected representatives to read her comments!

I think they wanted Trump to draw a red line with Putin like Obama did with Assad, so that later on when Putin ignores the red line and does whatever he wants, like Assad did with Obama, they can then claim Trump failed.
A leader should never make demands to strongmen unless he has a good expectation that they will be respected and he has sufficient support from those he leads to take action if the demands are rejected.
Clearly Trump does not have support from these legislators - therefore he’s in no position to make the empty demands they want, and they are empty demands because they have offered no solution to the problem other than to whine. Because Putin heads a nuclear country they know darn well they are too cowardly to do anything about Russia- heck, they were too gutless to do anything even about Louis Lerner or Brennan when he spied on them.
Wasn’t Newt also hand in hand in a global warming commercial with Hillary?
He (correctly) stated that there are extremists on both sides of the political spectrum, and the DNC media complex and the usual RINO suspects promptly went nuts claiming Trump was virtually endorsing Nazis and the KKK.
