Hillary Clinton Says Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh Will Bring Back Slavery
PJ Media ^ | July 13, 2018 | Tyler O'Neil

On Friday morning, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton suggested that President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, would bring back slavery if he is confirmed to the nation's highest court.

"Let me say a word about the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court," Clinton told the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) at its national convention. "This nomination holds out the threat of devastating consequences for workers rights, civil rights, LGBT rights, women’s rights — including those to make our own health decisions."

"It is a blatant attempt by this administration to shift the balance of the Court for decades and to reverse decades of progress," the former Democratic presidential nominee declared.

Then came the kicker: "I used to worry that they [the Republicans] wanted to turn the clock back to the 1950s. Now I worry they want to turn it back to the 1850s."

Clinton was clearly suggesting that Trump and Kavanaugh want to return to the days when slavery was legal in the South. The irony is, originalist Supreme Court justices like Kavanaugh would have agreed with Abraham Lincoln against the South, especially on the issue of slavery.

The American Civil War started in 1861, after a tense decade of increasing hostility between Southern Democrats who wanted to extend slavery beyond its boundaries as established by constitutional laws and Northern Republicans who saw slavery as evil and wanted to keep it within those limits. Republican Abraham Lincoln campaigned on restraining the evil institution, but an activist Supreme Court ruled that slavery could extend into the territories.

Ironically, another Republican president wants to restrain another activist Supreme Court, and Democrat Hillary Clinton is scaremongering....

Projection. Pure projection.

The Democrats are in a panic now that Trump has so drastically improved the job situation for blacks. Many blacks and other minorities are beginning to realize how great the Trump economy is for them. So the Democrats are panicking as the blacks flee from the DEMOCRAT PLANTATION.

Yep, projection. The better things get, the fewer slaves are left on the Dem plantation.

her big time funders mostly don’t give a dam* about her craziness.. they’re only trying to purchase governmental policies

what’s amazing is that there is anybody at all left who thinks she has even the remotest chance of ever getting elected
to anything, any office including Little Rock Dog Catcher.

“Does this stupid old deluded bitch not understand that it was her party that was the party of slavery, the Confederacy, secession , the Civil War, Jim Crow Laws and created the KKK?”

And we also need to explain to this erstwhile Senator from New York that her state voted to enshrine slavery into the United States Constitution.

If not for the pro-slavery votes of New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Delaware, and Maryland the provisions in the constitution requiring apportionment of Representatives based on three fifths of “all other Persons” would never have existed, just to cite one example of New York complicity in the peculiar institution.

Of course, don't let me forget to mention that Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia were also slave states.

The acceptance of slavery was unfortunately necessary so Southern states so it could be ratified. And while the North didn't go to war to end slavery per se, the South certainly went to war to preserve it. Where are you from? Were your ancestors Confederates? Did any of them own slaves? My ancestor fought for The Army of The Potomac.

“And while the North didn't go to war to end slavery per se . . .”

If that is true, then we can forever dismiss the notion that Lincoln and the North “fought to free the slaves.” And why should they?

It was slave, and erstwhile slave states such as New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Delaware, and Maryland that voted to enshrine slavery into the U.S. constitution in the beginning.

Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia also voted for slavery. A four-thirteenths apportionment of responsibility must always be cast in that direction.

Jefferson was a Virginian and the main author of The Constitution and a prodigious slave owner. As I said th3e North did not go to war to end slavery, it went to war to preserve the Union and in 1863 Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. The South fought to the bitter end to preserves slavery. Yours is an argument of moral relativism and it’s falling flat. And you totally dodged the questions I asked you.

“Jefferson was a Virginian and the main author of The Constitution and a prodigious slave owner.”

James Madison is credited with being the “Father of the Constitution.”

Thomas Jefferson was in France during the Constitutional Convention.

Start with that.

Start with this bozo. Jefferson was the main author behind the Constitution. Madison was the main reason why we have a 2nd. Amendment. The other Framers felt it wasn't necessary to include it in The Bill of Rights but Madison insisted. Check out the NRA's Madison Club for more info. Yours is a moral relativist argument. yes slavery existed in the colonies ans later prior to The Civil War. The difference is the South started a war to preserve it. And again you dodged the questions I asked you. Were your ancestors Confederates? Did any of them own slaves?

It is not a history book but you might want to take a look at a second opinion:

https://www.heritage.org/political-process/report/james-madison-father-the-constitution

Your claim that “Jefferson was the main author behind the Constitution” is not supported by scholarship.

The fact that you flubbed-up on this is no big deal. No one is saying you did it intentionally. Just admit it and move on. Right now, you are still a pretty big man around here.
