Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced on Friday that 12 Russian intelligence officers was indicted by Special Counsel Robert Mueller in the ongoing Trump-Russia investigation. The officers are members of the GRU, and are all named as having allegedly hacked the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Democratic National Committee, and the Hillary Clinton campaign. CNN reported that prosecutors from Mueller's office and the Justice Department's National Security Division gave a grand jury indictment to a D.C. federal magistrate judge on Thursday morning. The indictment comes just one day before President Trump is set to meet Russian president Vladimir Putin in Helsinki for their first one-on-one meeting

If no one was allowed to do a forensic examination of the servers/computers of the DNC, how are they able to determine the 5 W’s, and HOW?

That was my first reaction also; how do they "know" anything w/o the DNC server?

And all the perps are in Russia so the indictments are pointless.

Curious timing though, dontcha think.

Does Boris Mueller not see the extreme irony in this? He is indicting foreign nationals for hacking into the emails of a woman who threw these emails around like confetti at a ticker tape parade?

“Are all those Russians going to comply with Rosenweasel and Mueller?”

I would like to see them come to the US and challenge the charges.

Make Mueller present his evidence in a Federal Court. Which, even IF it exists, would never be released as evidence in a US Court...under any circumstances.

This is the Deep State striking at the heart of Trump’s Foreign Policy while he is on his biggest, most important trip.

I read the indictment posted at http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2018/07/russians-charged-in-dnc-hacking-case.php

I wonder how much of it is actually true vs. how much was invented out of thin air.

There once was a time when I would have taken such a detailed recital at face value, but events have shown that the FedGov (including the DOJ/FBI, CIA, IRS, DHS, and others) can not be trusted to be truthful.

For FedGov agencies who at least superficially claim that 'sources and methods' of intelligence gathering must remain protected, they sure are putting a lot of stuff out there.

Brainstorming about how certain pieces of information might have been gathered leads either to conclusions that the FedGov made use of a massive and pervasive electronic surveillance network, both domestically and abroad, as well as massive and competent humint capabilities, or else there is a great deal of creative writing going on.

I suspect that the answer is "both".

I certainly understand that deception is a form of tradecraft that is necessary in certain realms, although I question whether that is allowed to extend to sworn declarations before a US court.

Just what I was thinking of, didn’t some Russians show up to answer this indictment and now Boris Mueller is on the hot seat to show evidence?

Even if true, it simply exposes what any good intelligence or military org would do to an opponent. Anyone really believe we’re not doing the same — and more — to any number of countries in the world? I guess Russia should counter-indict some of our intelligence folks...

...Brennan maybe?

That is exactly how the DNC wants you to feel

I say we keep fighting, keep electing Trump and Trump allied republicans and keep moving forward.

Don’t pay too much attention to this circus.

NO votes or vote counts changed. NO Americans involved. NO Americans knew they were in touch with Russian hackers. BIG win for Trump today.

Thats the real headline.... Not the “ russia did it”

Hey Mulehead.... now you will indict Obama for interfering in overseas elections.

I believe that has been reported as having happened .

Lets also not forget that the *CIA’s OWN* set of cool computer hacking tools sent to Wikileaks had a really nifty application in the set that would allow you to make it look as if the computer hacking job came from any country you wanted to choose!

This DOJ is so full of s*** its comical.

One of the original Russians charged did exactly that, and Mueller refuses to turn over the evidence. Guess what? He'll win that fight, too.

The chain of evidence is broken without the original DNC server. Total bulls hit!

Agree. Rosenstein/Mueller count on the average person not knowing that, or the fact the DNC didn’t listen to pre warnings where the RNC did, and then the DNC refused to allow access to their servers..

Total kabuki theater and insider politics..... to keep the Russia did it alive...
