Already preparing for the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo joined abortion activists this week to push for measures to protect abortion on demand.
Cuomo, a Democrat who is up for re-election, signed an executive order Tuesday directing state agencies to make rules forcing health insurers to cover all forms of contraception, including those that may cause abortions, the Journal News reports.
The governor also urged the state legislature to pass a radical pro-abortion bill that would keep abortion on demand legal if Roe is overturned. Surrounded by abortion activists Monday at a rally, Cuomo said the Reproductive Health Act would protect abortion rights in the New York Constitution, according to News 12 Westchester.
Mark my words, they are moving to roll back Roe v. Wade, that is going to be the next move by this president, Cuomo said of President Donald Trump and his nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh. They say it. Its not like you have to read the tea leaves.
This is a pro-life justice who I believe, theres no question, will overturn Roe v. Wade, Cuomo added.
The AP reports Cuomo went so far as to urge the state Senate to come back early from its summer break to pass the pro-abortion legislation. The bill passed the state Assembly, but approval seems unlikely in the Republican-controlled state Senate.
You either come back and protect a womans right to choose and respect a womans reproductive health rights, the governor said, WSHU reports. Or the voters are going to say to you in November, Youre with Trump? Well, youre fired from the New York State Senate.
Heres more from the report:
A spokeswoman for the Senate Republicans, Candice Giove, answered Cuomos charges, saying in a statement, that Womens health issues deserve more than political stunts with stolen one-liners from The Apprentice. Giove says the Reproductive Health Act would allow non-doctors to perform abortions and also waters downs rights for pregnant women who are physically abused.

And Giove says Cuomo is so frightened of challenger Cynthia Nixon that its the governor who has drunk the Kool-Aid of radicals and socialists who now control the Democratic Party.
Pro-abortion lawmakers in New York have been trying to pass the radical pro-abortion Reproductive Health Act for years. Already one of the most pro-abortion states in America, New York would be made even more pro-abortion if the law passed. The bill would allow abortions on viable, late-term unborn babies for any health reason, a term so widely defined that basically anything would qualify.
State Sen. Liz Krueger, a sponsor of the bill, previously said the legislation also would allow for taxpayer funding of late-term abortions in many cases.
At the national level, the U.S. Senate soon will begin confirmation hearings for Kavanaugh, who, if confirmed, would become the fifth conservative justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. He would replace moderate Justice Anthony Kennedy, who is retiring.
National pro-life leaders have expressed high hopes for Kavanaugh and the future of unborn babies rights. Kavanaugh has served on the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for D.C. for more than a decade, where he developed an extensive record of protecting religious liberty and enforcing restrictions on abortion. Pro-life leaders believe he would do the same on the Supreme Court.
Cuomo being that desperate for votes that does surprise me.
Ah, so he does want divine wrath on his state. “Conservatives” will be the least of his problems now.
NY is not going to ban abortion.
Another reason not to live on the coasts where the ungodly dwell. When destruction comes,it will be deserved.
Liberals LOOOOVE dead babies.
Baby Killer, your day will come!
Typical “progressive”. Does he ask for the peoples elected representatives in the legislature to legislate? No, he issues new regulations by executive fiat.
Why? New York is so heavily Democratic hes a lock for re-election.
So why does Cuomo need to pander to the abortion lobby?
It makes no sense for the SCOTUS isnt going to overturn Roe.
The extreme left outdoes itself yet again.
I don’t know if that is true. I remember a vote, actually televised or maybe taped, where a disabled Dem State Senator stood up when called on to vote and tearfully voted no as he could not vote for ending a pregnancy where there was a potential for a disability, and the only way to prevent that was to vote no on every abortion. His was the deciding vote and I remember his colleagues pleading with him to change his vote.
Just Ban Babies already ,D’oh
If they can muster enough states to ratify an amendment then that would indeed be a right. Is this not tacit acknowledgement that there is no current “right” to kill your child?
Sick. Sick. Sick.
Why are they celebrating murder of the little ones? Why is it a right? Blackest of souls.
So why does Cuomo need to pander to the abortion lobby?
Maybe because he is eyeing the nomination for President in 2020? This would enhance his credentials with the extreme left.
If the Catholic Church hierarchy were not riddled with homosexuals and their crimes, Cuomo, his vile father and people like them would have been publicly ex communicated years ago and Catholics would clearly know that baby killing is not consistent with Catholicism or any decent religion.
If Roe was overturned, all that would mean is each state would have the right to set its own policy.
Its by no means the end of the world as the Left is proclaiming.
This has to do with the primaries. Hes being primaried by an ultra socialist lesbian tv star Cynthia Nixon.
I’ll pray for his soul. He desperately needs spiritual counsel. I wonder if his church has even reached out to his self-excommunicated person.
