Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk tweeted Monday that he had visited the cave and left behind a mini-sub rescue vehicle “in case it may be useful in the future.”

Honestly, what Elon Musk did comes across as incredibly opportunistic. Not helpful, but self-promotional. To me, that’s how he comes across.

That inflatable “sub” was manufactured here in Humboldt county by Wing Inflatables a manufacturer of various raft like boats...
