Well, Truman fired MacArthur when we were in Korea. And Reagan compared JFK to the worst of the left when referring to his “bold new imaginative program” on the economy. Can’t be too different.

Seek to take over? I thought it already happened. I believe CPUSA stopped running its own presidential candidate in the late 1980s.
That's a clue.
