Jordan Peterson doesn't get much discussion on Free Republic. This place skews older. On Twitter, Reddit, and Youtube, where the young kids are, he's much more popular.
Peterson is awesome. I have a Ph.D. and his lectures make my brain hurt. Literally, I can only take about an hour of him at a time because he generates so much thought.
He can veer off into a half-hour on “Lord of the Rings” as a symbol of the mythic hero, then go to Jung or Heidigger.
He makes one of the most powerful EVOLUTIONARY defenses of capitalism, free markets, and inequality you’ll find. This is why the left hates him: he uses evolutionary theory and massive scientific studies to disprove everything they stand for.
I certainly don’t agree with all his positions or even all his logic-—and he’s the first one to tell students, “See if you can punch holes in this”-—but his re-establishment of the role of sexes, and of fatherhood (”only men as a rule engage in rough and tumble play,” and “if a child hasn’t had rough and tumble play by age four they will never be socialized.”)
