I knew that was coming. I saw the segment. After Bossie made the comment Ed Henry felt it was necessary to apologize for the ‘language’ used by his guest. Stuck on stupid.

Its just a damn idiom. This is insane.
When this country was more agriculture based there were many of those sayings that had no basis in racism because people of all races worked in the fields. I knew many people in my life that picked cotton, and none of them were black.
Cotton picking mind, Cotton picking minute, pea picking, No time for that we have corn to shuck. All common sayings that had nothing to do with race, there were tons of those sayings in common use. I have made it my goal to start using those phrases again, even though it will make people think I am at least 30 years older.

News from the future - today Fox News suspended a host for claiming a black commentator was “wrong” as this is a form of white privilege because white people owned blacks as slaves so saying a black person is wrong is white oppression and racist.
Fox News apologizes for the offense and will work harder in the future to make blacks more welcome in its studios.

Since when are Blacks the only people who ever picked cotton? My mother, aunts, and uncles picked cotton in the 30’s. This expression was widely used when I was young. I haven’t heard it for a while, but what’s next?
