Incredible. Only 1 vote from saying law enforcement does NOT need a warrant to search your phone. While I’m appreciative of the ruling the vote count is troubling.

That's not exactly what the ruling says. The question involved whether law enforcement would need a warrant to search through phone records that relate to your phone but are owned by someone else.

The end result may be the same, but there is a very important distinction under the U.S. Constitution.

This case was not about whether law enforcement can search your phone without a warrant, the court held unanimously that they can not a few years back. This case was about whether the police can request the cell phone tower data from your phone company and use it to track your physical location minute to minute for the last half year or so of your life without a warrant.
