President Trump said Monday he's directed his administration to identify $200 billion worth of Chinese goods that will be subject to additional tariffs, escalating the ongoing trade dispute between the U.S. and China.
The president announced Friday that the U.S. would impose 25 percent tariffs on $50 billion in Chinese goods. Beijing responded with reciprocal tariffs on U.S. products.
Trump declared Monday that "further action must be taken to encourage China to change its unfair practices." As a result, he asked his trade representative, Robert Lighthizer, to identify $200 billion worth of Chinese goods that would be taxed at a rate of 10 percent.

Disagree with the President slightly. 10% tariff should be at least 25%.
LOL Its not over; he might get to 25% (or more) yet.
Yep, we’re just WARMING UP.
Im retired on a small fixed income. Im willing to pay more for American, Taiwan, or other friendly nation products, and make cuts in my budget accordingly.
China cant win this.
If they beat President Trump, the US is bankrupt. And then so is China. They cant survive without our economy buying their stuff. Will be a civil war there very quickly. (One is actually in the near future there, but thats a different topic.)
If President Trump wins, we get fair trade and China (including their oligarchy who makes even our Uber corrupt Uniparty look like pikers) gets to keep making billions.
Some other ways this can play out but they are mostly variations of those above.
President Trump obviously gets this.
Far as I know, this is just going to go back and forth with reciprocal tariffs until there's nothing left to put additional tariffs on. In the meantime, we're going to see huge $$s of market value wiped out on Wall Street.
What's the end game here?
GO TRUMP GO
China will run out of items to put tariffs on.
We send China $125 billion yearly.
They send us $500 billion yearly.
Trump is talking about $50 billion in tariffs shortly, followed by another $200 billion in tariffs.
There is a math problem here for China. They can’t put $250 billion of tariffs on, because we only send them $125 billion. China can’t win this battle.
What is the end game? USA wins. China will have to significantly reduce their trade surplus and making changes to their economic policies.
Buckle up everyone. This is going to be an exciting ride
What’s the end game here?
However it ends, as long as Trump is President it ENDS WITH CHINA HAVING A HUGELY REDUCED TRADE SURPLUS WITH THE US. China doesnt realized that just yet but TRUMP IS TEACHING THEM.
“I’m retired on a small fixed income. Im willing to pay more for American, Taiwan, or other friendly nation products, and make cuts in my budget accordingly.”
Good for you, I’m honored to comment on your posting, A REAL AMERICAN, willing to put our country’s interests first.
One of the best parts of these tariff fights is watching the left being forced to take the Globalist side, they’re just sitting ducks for me on other forums!
I don't know, but I suspect Americans will be buying more domestic goods rather than pay high prices for imported goods. That couldn't be the goal, could it? MAGA
“In the meantime, we’re going to see huge $$s of market value wiped out on Wall Street.
What’s the end game here?”
The end game is America with an industrial base that can win the next war, rather than lose and be the slaves of Putin and the chinese.
So what are they going to do, put a 25% tariff on our coal? The state owns all the steel mills, so are they gonna tax themselves?
I, for one, would be happy to see all food manufactured in China and sold in the US go away.
Coal seam fires in China generate as much CO2 as all of the light duty trucks running around the US.
I’m not sure about the world distribution of the production of metallurgical coal.
I read the “Art of the Deal” at university. The endgame in the book summary is “I win, you lose”. Trump knows what he’s doing.
And if Canada were to put a tariff on US oil, .........
Yep, but the US is in the hole on this, so China (with a smaller economy) has proportionitly much more to lose.
How about tariffs on Mexico to stop them from sending their children
