God, guns and Russia. Those were among the topics Gov Greg Abbott touched on Friday, when speaking to thousands of Republicans gathered for their every-other-year state convention, this time at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. "If Texas was its own country," Abbott said, when he was interrupted by large cheers. "Let me rephrase that. If Texas was its own country again, we'd have the 10th largest economy in the entire world. "The Texas economy alone is larger than Russia's," he said with a grin. "And that makes me more powerful than Putin."

I’ll vote for him over the lesbian. If the dems had nominated the White man, I’m not sure how I would have voted. Abbott is sending way too much money to the corrupt folks in Waco instead of making the folks down there pay for their own wrongdoing .

Maybe he should take care of his own issues.

As I understand it, Texas libs get to do all the virtue signaling they want to their heart's content AND get to live in Texas and not have to pay state income tax. Travis County is liberal heaven.

Talking tough to Russia is all the rage but the real enemy walks through our border by the thousands and Texas is in jeopardy of turning purple rather rapidly. We have the greatest military on the planet that is useless against illegal aliens and liberals.

That was so funny. He knew it would make liberal heads explode in so many different ways. Freakin’ hilarious.

“Pride cometh before the fall.”

Everywhere except Texas. It just launches you to the next level in Texas.

>>Texas was one of the first states to come out of the great recession .

We never really went into one. We had a bit of a housing bubble and business slowed in some industries but it was worse in the early ‘90s and even early 2000s.

Our poor, handsome Texas governor, an avid hunter and fisherman, in a freak accident; had a tree fall over on him as a young man leaving him paralyzed from the waist down and confined to a wheelchair .

Say what Willis? Do you think timidity is the way to go? We tried that for decades with North Korea and then got bold - which method appears to get the best results?
