Feinstein bill challenges Trump's zero-tolerance border policy

Senate Democrats announced legislation Friday to prevent authorities from separating children from their parents at the border, in a move that would likely punch a hole in the middle of the Trump administration’s new zero-tolerance border policy.

Sponsored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the bill is the first major concrete effort to try to push back against the zero-tolerance policy.

“The United States must not be a country that traumatizes young children by separating them from their parents,” the California Democrat said.

“We don’t have a policy of separating families. If you commit a crime in this country, the police will take you to jail regardless if you have a family or not,” said department spokesman Tyler Q. Houlton. “Illegal aliens should not get preferential treatment because they happen to be illegal aliens.”

Once again illegal aliens are offered rights not given to US citizens.

Feinstein is essentially taking a stance against the United States.

She should be removed from office.

This is a violation of her oath of office, and it is NOT on behalf of any citizen.

Kids should go where their parents go. If parents get sent back where they belong then so should the kids - not the other way around.

This might sound better if Feinstein was “pro-family” in any other way too.

It’s puzzling too this talk about “at the border.” If a family is caught stealing across, isn’t the whole family turned back to Mexico?

“The United States must not be a country that traumatizes young children by separating them from their parents,” the California Democrat said.

The children were traumatized long before they got here, and that is irrelevant to the situation, anyway.

Sorry, your psycho parents chose to uproot you from the only world you knew and put your lives in danger. People should be angry at the unfit parents, not President Trump...

Feinstein needs to learn how to spell V-E-T-O and understand its meaning.

“The United States must not be a country that traumatizes young children by separating them from their parents,” the California Democrat said.

Logic would dictate that, it's the parents themselves that are responsible for their children being separated from their parents. It the parents would not insist on illegally crossing the border and bringing their children along, there would be no children being separated from their parents.

Fiendstain is also advocating for breaking of the law, by proposing a law that violates the laws already in the books.

Why can’t Feinstein be separated from her money, for the women and children and MS-13 dreamers?

The interim Border Patrol chief said on TV last week that these kids were being brought in because they believe it will let them stay.

Any one care to guess where they might get that impression?

Then change it instead separate the parent from the children rather than the children from the parents.

“....Feinstein is essentially taking a stance against the United States.....”

Another in a long line of lawless efforts to gain and hold power over the voting booth....this is what our great AG in Washington has been railing about AND HAS DONE NOTHING TO THESE TREASONOUS CRIMINALS.

Where is the justice and accountability????

Are the parents turned back to Mexico clamoring for the kids to come back with them... or are they wishing them to stay here, as anchors?

Funny for all the lip service we get to hear I notice no one ever seems to present a bill that would allow for the immediate removal of illegal aliens from the county.

It’s a cruel, cynical twist on what used to be called liberal. What is going on under that name today is quite different. It’s stealing our money to bribe votes for them.

Any elected official who sides with illegal aliens against the citizens and the rule of law needs to be removed from office, including the ones who wear R jerseys like Rubio, Heller, Murkowsky, Hoeven, Alexander and Graham.

Thank God Flake, Corker, Hatch and McCain are leaving soon.

AZ is being manipulated into electing McSally as the new Flake.
I hope TN does not disappoint.
I’m pretty sure UT will.

Most of the children do not come in with their actual parents. And many of the “children” are teenagers.
