Then they’ll have to come up with a way to save all the flora that will be short on CO2.

The really weird thing is how the Left now wants to “stabilize” CO2 levels, which goes against the entire history of our always changing climate.

Stabilize it at what level? Why is that the best level? Best for whom or what? The planet won’t allow it to happen anyway. The planet has been a self-correcting system for billions of years. It will correct for this attempt to control it too.

"“PERHAPS give our planet a second chance” - you gotta love just how bought in and terrorized these people a Newsweak are."

The typical Newsweak writer is the equivalent of a brainwashed, uneducated high school sophomore. Here's the one that wrote this tripe...

Note, no where in the article does it say how they plan to get energy out of CO2. CO2 is the product of combustion, it cannot be further oxidized. To get energy from it you have to put in energy to split it back to Carbon and oxygen - a total waste.

In other words, stop F*ng with nature before you really f* things up.

Another way "scientists" thought of as a solution, is to dump tons of lime into the oceans. That increases its alkalinity, which increases the oceans' ability to absorb and hold CO2. However, the financial cost is too expensive, it could kill life in the oceans, and creating the lime would release CO2. But hey, these fools will try anything to f*ck nature in the guise of being "right".

Turn co2 into fuel! I laughed so hard I fell off my chair! If it’s fuel, then you burn the stuff, which produces more co2! Are they stupid or what?
How much energy is going to be used to do this sucky process? You absolutely will NOT enough energy out of the co2 to replace the energy used for the sucky process.
Also, if you pull co2 out of the air, plants will not flourish, using less co2, thus tending to restore the balance upset by pulling the co2 out of the air. In other words, you can pull all the co2 out of the air that you want, but Nature will tend to restore the balance that you just upset.
Plant trees, you a$$holes! And give out free birth control pills in “developing” countries.

“think they can take a penny and make a dollar from it without putting in the remaining 99 cents?”

The last 99 cents comes from the taxpayers

Assume they aren’t touting carbon monoxide as the fuel to be produced. Then they didn’t mention that essential source of hydrogen, which chemically combined with carbon adds up to the hydrocarbon materials known as fuel. Guess where we typically get hydrogen from—no, it’s not water. Hint>NG.

They will need an inexpensive source of hydrogen to make this a real proposition. They also need a lot of inexpensive energy to drive a process to synthesize fuels from captured CO2. Overall just less expensive to chemically sequester carbon as carbonate rock as catalyzed by reaction with basaltic rock formations lying underground. Use the fuels already available. Two separate issues.

CO2 is what you get after you burn a hydrocarbon or carbohydrate. Sticking hydrogen back on so you can burn it again TAKES energy, doesn’t it?

I “propose a plan” to suck the grant money away from these LIB anti-science lunatics.

And they use it to make Oxygen, necessary for humans to live.

Actually, they use it and the Hydrogen from water to make sugars, and release the O2 from the water as a by-product...necessary for humans to live. The O2 comes from the water.

Uh...hey dufii...plants suck c02 out of atmosphere...by product is 02 and food..
Just plant more edible vegetation...
This is some kind of hoax...or maybe idiocracy is here...

But will fuel energy output be greater than the energy used to produce the fuel to begine with? (I doubt that they care...)

When the captured co2 is burned as fuel some how...what happens to the evil carbon atom...transformed into to diamonds?????? This is the looniest scheme of many loony green schemes...

So let me get this straight ... The 2nd and 3rd law of thermodynamics aren’t true?

You can’t get something for nothing. You can’t even break even.

Game, set, match.

Sucking CO2 out of the air would blow up the global warming charade.
