Scientists announced they are on the cusp of perfecting technology that would pull CO2 from the air and convert it into a fuel source. The tool could help humans reverse some of the effects of global warming and perhaps give our planet a second chance.
In a study published Thursday in Joule, scientists at the Canadian company Carbon Engineering explained their CO2 extraction plans. The machine works by sucking air into cooling towers, the. Once inside the towers, the CO2 comes into contact with a liquid that captures the gas. Once captured, the CO2 would then be used as the main material for a synthetic liquid fuel.
It is currently possible to extract CO2 from the air, but the process is expensive. According to the paper, the new machine may be able to do so at a reduced price: $94 to $232 per ton of CO2 from the atmosphere. Previous attempts to accomplish this priced the feat at around $600 per ton.
"This is a real step forward, and it's not just our company saying it," David Keith, a founder of Carbon Engineering and a professor of applied physics at Harvard University. "I hope this changes views about this technology from being this thing which people think is a magic savior, which it isn't, or that it is absurdly expensive, which it isn't, to an industrial technology that is doable and can be developed in a useful way."

Of course more grant money will be needed.
Don’t take it all. Plants and crops need CO2 to live.
LOL....”scientists”.....my ass.
No way, no how....
Where are they going to get it?
It makes up less than 0.1% of the atmosphere.
“PERHAPS give our planet a second chance” - you gotta love just how bought in and terrorized these people a Newsweak are.
Don’t the plants need the CO2? insanity is strong with them.
And they use it to make Oxygen, necessary for humans to live.
CO2 is but a tiny fraction of a small percent of trace gases in the atmosphere, necessary for plant life.
Take it out, and plant life on the planet goes extinct - but humans go extinct first due to lost food sources. Bad idea - we need CO2 to exist. People don’t understand that 99 percent of the atmosphere is not trace gases. And CO2 is a tiny fraction of that remaining 1 percent.
Carbon dioxide is a non-flammable gas. It is the product of combustion itself. So even if you recover it, it cant become fuel with the addition of something else. It can only be separated to use as an oxidizer.
Where do these so called scientists of today come from that think they can take a penny and make a dollar from it without putting in the remaining 99 cents?

Yes, Yes they do.
Newsweek (Newswreck) - Dishonored in Trump's 2017 Top Ten First Annual Fake News Winners AKA Among the Top Ten Biggest Liars of the Lying Leftist Media
Dont believe these Lying Leftist Media outlets that proved themselves during the 2016 campaign to be operatives of the DNC and intentional liars. They are presumed to be lying and we should presume what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.
If this story is true and has some redeeming value, at least get the story from a reasonably reliable source, not from a known Lying Leftist operative posing as a news organization. Youve done the Patriotic Right a service. Much better than the mindless repetition of lying sources and their lying headlines.

Thank you!
Reminds me of that doofus with the motor scooter that “runs on water”. He electrolyses the water, then burns the resulting hydrogen to make....[drum roll please].....water!
You beat me! GMTA!
