Donald Trump just dunked on Jeff Sessions in the most vicious way possible
CNN Fake News ^ | 6/6/2018 | Chris Cilliza

It's no secret that President Donald Trump loathes his attorney general, Jeff Sessions. The reason it's no secret is because on a weekly basis -- and sometimes even a daily basis -- the President is tweeting his distaste for Sessions.

Just when you thought the bullying couldn't get any worse -- Trump has repeatedly said he would never and should never have hired Sessions, called him "beleaguered," "very weak" and "disgraceful," and reportedly refers to the former Alabama senator as "Mr. Magoo" -- today happened.

The scene: A FEMA briefing in which Trump and a number of his Cabinet officials were seated around a table. For most of the Cabinet officials, Trump was effusive in his praise of the job they were doing. And then there was Sessions.

Here's what Trump said about each of the Cabinet members; I saved Sessions until last because, well, you'll see.

* Secretary of State Mike Pompeo: "Mike. Mike, another great job you are doing. Secretary Michael Pompeo. We're keeping him very busy. We're keeping you so busy. You're going to be flying -- a lot of flying in the next couple of weeks. But what a job you've done, and we appreciate it. The whole country appreciates it, Mike. Thank you very much." * Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin: "Steve Mnuchin. Steve, wherever you may be. He's working hard on those taxes and keeping the taxes down. We passed the greatest tax cut in the history of our country, and lots of other things. And thank you very much. Great. I think we say that we have had the strongest -- this is the strongest, from an economic standpoint, that our country has ever been. We're doing better in terms of business, in terms of unemployment. We've broken the record with

I don’t know what kind of game Trump is playing here. He’s never been afraid of saying you’re fired!

That's when he was on TV. It's a different story now. For whatever reason Trump does not fire Jeff Sessions. Thus Trump has made two mistakes.

#1 Hiring Jess Sessions and
#2 not correcting his mistake and firing him.

Is Trump afraid to fire sessions before the mid terms? I think he would benefit from it, but those advising Trump probably are telling him to not do that. Trump has been more right than wrong... and if it were me... I”d have him fired a long time ago and dealt with an interim AG.. after this latest IG comes out .. see who is in trouble and then decide to fire sessions if the other side is being held to accountability.

The media and the dems in congress are NOT the majority of citizens/voters.... that’s all we hear is their diatribe. People are tired of all this. Get on TV with a speech about what sessions has done and not done... and fire him.
McConnel can pound sand... so can the rest who are not the targets and free with their advice.

Sessions put on a really good act to get his position... and if they can prove he is part of the overall plan, he can be fired for the same reason comey was fired. it’s better to get rid of him and take the heat, than to let him continue in his dirt .. who knows what else he might do.

The ultimate analysis of this hasn’t changed. There are two basic possibilities.

1. Sessions is playing for the deep state in opposition to Trump’s agenda. In this scenario, there is nothing unknown to the public. His inaction is on display for all to see.

2. Sessions is working with Trump against the deep state. In this case, there is much going on behind the scenes in the way of investigations that we have no knowledge of.

None of us have direct knowledge of either possibility.

Sam, you need to watch the first few minutes of the briefing. This was a public humiliation like I’ve never seen.

If sessions is part of the deep state in this sense... if sessions was put there by the dems/left/swamp... if sessions is working overtime to get Trump, Pres Trump would be foolish to let him stay on. Imposible.

The dems have said over and over.. they’d impeach Trump if he fired sessions... so I guess sessions has made them happy over there.. (all the more to remove him). He fired comey and took flack, but today we know Trump was right... so do the same to sessions... the same reason, the same crime.. the same swamp..

No, if Trump fires Sessions, Rosenstein takes over and you can kiss away any progress on the immigration war. Furthermore both Grassley (#1) and Graham (#2) in the Senate Judiciary Committee have promised obstruction of justice proceedings. So what has been gained?

No doubt Trump was a keen observer of Nixon’s downfall. Nixon was not a horrible criminal. His wrongdoing was very minor and was blown wildly out of proportion.

Nixon’s biggest problem was that he had no staunch Republican supporters. Rather, he had a lot of preening, self-absorbed milquetoasts who were only too happy to throw him to the wolves.

That’s Trump’s situation in a nutshell. He’s got a vicious, lawless prosecutor after him along with a GOP that ranges from actively hating him to simply refusing to support him. Hopefully that will change when Ryan’s gone. But until then Trump is walking a very fine line—and that is the way the Sessions-Rosenstein-Mueller hit squad planned it.

Well we know directly that sessions inaction is a fact.

People WANT to believe his inaction is a plan. Personally, I doubt it.

3. Trump has his own timetable. In the meantime, he is going to grind Sessions into meatloaf every chance he gets.

With beautiful Melania at his side, Trump let everyone know he was the alpha male in the room and Sessions was a little worm.

"Someone at CNN actually counted all the words in each address."

Or someone just got a copy of the speech via video with "CLOSED CAPTION," and copy the "CLOSED CAPTION" text, put it into the program of choice {MicroSoft WORD, WordPerfect etc} and have the program do the counting (Paragraphs, word count, sentence count, etc.) probably took a total of 15 - 20 min's max.

Yeah, he’s not a fan of Sessions.

This quoting his chatter really is not very flattering to Trump. He is a chattery guy off the cuff. I like him but he don’t talk presuhdential.
