In Guam, we called ‘em ‘Grass Ninjas’. But they were locals and were legal.

We will just call these guys ILLEGAL ALIENS.

Business owners should be jailed for this, no doubt.

Say what you will but personally I’ve had nothing but good luck with these types of workers and a whole bunch of stuff around my house would never have been accomplished without them.

I’ve heard from an extremely reliable source that a fairly large employer in south central MN (would give name but don’t want to break any libel laws) has secret rooms on the job site into which illegals are herded when ICE comes.

If it’s happening here, it’s happening elsewhere. Don’t think employers care too much about E-Verify. Hiring illegals must be worth the risk.

They do both. You can work and get paid under one false identity, then collect benefits under another. It’s not an either/or situation.

Local paper used to have weekly welfare fraud stories then they stopped covering it about 10 or so years ago.

"E-Verify!!!!! We keep ignoring that. The owners of that company should be liable for 50k$ an illegal head."

E-Verify is THE best tool to highly reduce illegal immigration. I was an owner of 3 companies and CEO of 2 in the 90's. E-Verify was required on EVERY hire. Not sure when it stopped being a Fedgov requirement. Clinton, Bush, Obama?

No jobs - few illegals. It's the simple answer to this issue. Although, the illegal industry has created a highly successful false I.D. system, just increase penalties to companies who don't use the system or accept false documents. It worked at the time, it can work again. I remember daily ICE raids on companies that didn't use the system or were proven to accept fraudulent docs.

Of course there would be the same problems with our stupid judicial system of catch and release; chain migration; over-stayed Visas, weak asylum laws, and dropping out a kid on US soil.

How many of the 115 that were “employed” and getting paid under the table do you think are filing and paying withholdings to a legit SSN?

I will bet you a very large piece of chalk that every single one of them is ripping off America in more ways that either of us can count or even recognize.

Close to 115...

So what is that? 112? 114? “Over 100” I could understand, but if you’re going to say “Close to 115”, Why not just say the actual number?

They should arrest the owner.

A business not far away from me used to employ a landscaping company with a crew of these leafblower guys. Business no longer uses this company.

“Nearly 115” versus 114. Why did they even waste the ink to say “Nearly”? It doesn’t seem to add impact to the headline.

That said, bravo. Job-stealing illegals, probably working under the table while collecting benefits funded by the 51% of Americans that pay federal income tax.

The story I heard on the radio said that many of them had stolen SS numbers or SS numbers from deceased American citizens. So in addition to them being here illegally, there’s that.
