Nearly 115 Illegal Alien Workers Arrested at Ohio Landscaping Business by Trump’s ICE Agency

Close to 115 illegal alien landscaping workers were arrested in Sandusky, Ohio on Tuesday by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. In an effort to crack down on businesses hiring illegal aliens over American citizens, ICE agents arrested about 114 illegal aliens who were working for Corso’s Flower & Garden Center in Ohio, according to the Associated Press.

The arrests of the illegal alien workers were made at the landscaping business’s two locations in Ohio, with ICE officials saying that criminal charges are expected to include tax evasion and identity theft.

Thus far, no charges have been filed against Corso’s Flower & Garden Center, but an ICE official told the Associated Press that “a large volume of business documents” were taken by the agency.

The immigration worksite raid is part of a larger effort by President Trump’s administration to crack down on businesses that hire cheaper, illegal alien workers over American citizens.

E-Verify!!!!! We keep ignoring that. The owners of that company should be liable for 50k$ an illegal head.

This could be repeated 10 times a day in every state. There would be no illegal problem if American employers obeyed existing laws.

>>criminal charges are expected to include tax evasion and identity theft

If true fines were applied for each violation, they’d be out of business.

They should deport the business owner as well.

“. . . they’d be out of business.”

As well they should be. And apply “drug war” logic, the principals should suffer so-called “civil forfeiture” of their equipment, homes and cars all partially paid for by their ill-gotten gains. (On the backs of their illegal workers at the expense of American workers.)

Just my opinion.

I agree with you. This wasn’t accidental; it was deliberate and they should be made an example of. If your business plan relies on illegal labor then you need to find a new way of doing things or a new line of business.

Yup-and what about the property owners who rent to them? Aren’t they breaking law as well?

We can always count on individuals choosing their own self-interest over the good of the community. Hiring illegals has to come with enough of a risk of punishment that people will see it’s not in their own self-interest.

“So what happens to the business owners?”

That’s my question, too. They’re as criminal as those workers, no? I’m hoping Trump makes this business a loud ass shot across the bow for all our unAmerican, illegal-hiring businesses.

Of course, the talk about prices increasing starts in 10, 9, 8...

Careful with these kind of stories - they go against the idea that illegals are coming here to sit around and collect welfare.

Posting pictures of guys working and stories about workers being arrested is sort of counter to that narrative. Also adds to the idea that American businesses are still too willing to sellout to illegals.

I’d be more impressed by a headline like “ICE rounds up 200 illegal aliens collecting welfare”

I slightly worry Trumps end game is to sell us immigration - because we are at “full employment” and need workers...or something along those lines.

/concern off

Thy shouldn’t be here period. All they do is suppress wages and perpetuate the welfare cycle of dependency.

I've been saying this for years. If local police were to be able to do civil forfeiture, the number of sanctuary cities would be zero. And the net outflow of illegal aliens would be total in mere months. But you have to take it from the illegals as well as the business owners. And have the only affirmative defense be e-verify. That way the owner isn't responsible for a mistake by the government.
