Three Climate Change Questions Answered: All it takes is a few simple Google searches

About that “the science is settled” thing:

Science uses the scientific method, which requires controlled experiments with reproducible results.

It is impossible to conduct controlled climate experiments, much less obtain reproducible results, therefore climate “science” is not science.

On question one....is the science community united? There’s odd thing. Do you really care what a astrophysicist thinks on the topic? Or how about a 60 year old PhD guy who has only studied bats his entire life? Or how about a guy who is a veterinary science expert?

You see an awful lot of weather science folks who don’t agree with the climate change business, and that crowd would be central to the whole discussion.

I’d add a fourth crucial question:

Climate change is a topic in science. And all topics in science must be open to debate, continual debate. So why aren’t climate change skeptics free to debate this issue? Why have they all been bullied into silence?

The the answer to the question

“Do you believe that X is changing, and does mankind have an effect on X?”

where X is just about any phenomenon in the world, is “yes”. If you add the words “significantly” and “significant”, the answer in most cases is “no”.

The earth’s climax is not a fixed, permanent state - the earth is a living, breathing, evolving planet. Continents shift. Rivers change their courses. Magnetic poles reverse. Ice ages come and go. A single hurricane is no more predictive of global climate than a cow fart.

I find it almost comical that many in the church of AGW use the word, “science” almost as a Christian would use the word, Jesus. Science is, at the end of the day, a methodology used to test theories. And the results of those tests can be used to understand how things work as well as allow us to make things like steam engines and flat screen TV’s. But it is not science that gives us those things. Rather, it is what we learn from scientific experimentation that allows us the understanding necessary to conceive and build such things. Science is not really all that romantic. It’s fairly boring work.

I usually go with - “What caused the heat and humidity of the time of the dinosaurs to end with an ice age? What caused the ice age to end?, since there was little CO2 from SUV’s and pickups at the time?”
