That's a bit of spin, even right there -- the third world was still relying on shortwave radio in 1948, and the various racist Arab regimes broadcast a call for Arabs to get out of the way of the invading Arab armies. Those who did mostly didn't go back, or were talked into staying, or not permitted to leave their "refugee camps". Thanks rktman.
Currently reading a 5 part series (historical fiction) called Zion Chronicles by Bodie Thoene. First out in 1988. Lots of actual participants used. Funny thing is a character called Yassar ‘Fatar’ is related to haj Amin al huseinni. Gotta believe the author changed ‘Arafat’ since he was still around at the time. Interesting read.
