Giving an award, a made-up, one-time award if necessary, to a fellow Leftist icon under siege is classic Leftist gaslighting. We are to think that any talk or accusations against the recipient must be unfounded partisan hackery -- in this case, Harvard doesn't believe them, so you shouldn't either, right?

And then it exists with other "awards" in the recipient's wikipedia entry and google searches, as a permanent rebuttal to horrors spun as "allegations", "controversies", &c.

Recall that Dan Rather and Mary Mapes won a Peabody Award in 2005 (for an Abu Gahrib segment), just weeks after they both left CBS.
