The first woman to join an infantry regiment since defence chiefs lifted a ban on females serving in combat units has quit after just two weeks of training, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.
The recruit dropped out of an 18-week course this month after falling behind her male counterparts on endurance marches and failing other physical tests at a training base in Suffolk.
It is understood that when the woman resigned, she admitted having underestimated the physical requirements of being an infantry recruit. She also told officers that living in female-only accommodation made her feel ‘like an outsider’ and weakened her resolve. Her resignation is a huge blow to officials who are determined to integrate women into fighting units in the Army, Royal Marines and Royal Air Force.

Just loosen the requirements like the US does.
It was very sexist of the Brits to demand that the woman do everything the men had to do after she demanded to be let in after telling everyone that women could do anything that men could do.
What is it that Israel does? They have been very successful in that goal for quite sometime now.
Women aren’t equal to men anywhere in the world. Israel is just so small that it needs everyone. The UK certainly does not.

As border guards, not front line combat troops (that was a failure).
They should not loosen the requirements. If a lady meets the requirements, then she deserves to be on the team. Most men (me included) can’t meet those requirements, so it is no shame for a lady to try and fail.
That makes sense. Heck, a lot of men cannot measure up.
Unlike the US and UK, there is an iota of common sense in IDF leadership.
Well there may be a few that can best a surprising number, but none can best every man. For sure. Men are the physically stronger sex. Just a fact of life. Social engineering can not change that fact no matter how hard they try.
That aspect is equally important to the physical standard (and it has already been shown women cannot meet it unless the system is rigged for them a la mommy ranger or standards are dropped), and no matter what PC leadership say or do, they cannot change it.
Perhaps we can get them to guard our borders. 8>)
Women can be equal to men as pilots, and other jobs that are not physical (the average man will always be physically stronger than the average woman - that’s genetics - but a woman can be smarter than a guy and many are
I was being a bit sarcastic. Heck, lets loosen the requirements enough that a wheelchair person can be in combat roles.
