North Korea 'preparing to hide nuclear arsenal in remote mountain province'

North Korea has designated remote Chagang Province as a Special Songun [military-first] Revolutionary Zone, fuelling suspicions that the region is being turned into a mountain redoubt for the regime’s atomic weapons and missile programmes despite Pyongyang’s promises to scrap its nuclear arsenal.

Officials of the Ministry of State Security were informed of the new designation in April, the Seoul-based Daily NK news outlet reported, quoting a high-ranking source in Pyongyang.

The region will become “a strategic foothold for the military in the face of modern warfare”, the source said, adding that the ministry had decreed “the project must go forward without any issues because Kim Jong-un was doing it out of respect for his father’s and grandfather’s legacies”.

Covering more than 6,400 square miles on North Korea’s border with China, fully 98 percent of Chagang is mountainous, meaning it is relatively sparsely populated and has plenty of opportunities for underground excavations to conceal stockpiles of weapons and facilities to conduct further research....

Trump called the little man’s bluff, didn’t he? Lil Kim started posturing and acting like he was going to do an “in your face” move, so Trump beat him to the punch, making Fat Boy look like a weak little girl. Great chess game, POTUS!

Kim has probably decided to store his weapons and suspend his nuclear program until Trump is no longer in office. Basically to wait him out. Then, its right back to the same old game of intimidation.

Besides satellites what do you think that there are passive monitors and cameras all over north Korea?

With new batteries and solar cells a passive monitor can sit around for years waiting for something to happen.

The North Koreans can move their stuff all over but not without being observed.

Keeping his nuclear arsenal in a remote province away from his civilian population? That sounds awfully convenient if we ever needed to send in a B-2 to drop a B61 or two to take them out.

I don’t think President Trump will sit and wait for those weapons to be used on us.

Right on China’s border making it more difficult for us to use military.
Un and Xi cooked this up at their last secret meeting.
Trump needs to pulverize their Nukes before or during move.

Kim’s problem is that he must be alive to wait President Trump out

I think you missed my point which was that Kim won’t do anything while Trump is in office.

He knows full well that Trump would not tolerate any more provocations from the little bastard. To do so would be his immediate demise.

Course, I do feel sad that this took out the Nobel Peace Prize, but that was all fake stuff anyway.

Intel stuff will pop up shortly with a list of continuing issues, and we’ll all have a laugh. Maybe the one thing out of this is that some NK general will look at things and just suggest one day a massive coup or explosion to fix the problem.

I would be curious what China’s internal reaction is...probably just laughing because NK actually got this far with the fake meeting business.

If Russia wanted to destroy something in Mexico they wouldn’t worry if it bordered the United States.

We have said hundreds of times that we cannot live with a nuclear-armed North Korea. Period. We either negotiate denuclearization or we eliminate the threat militarily.

Also what Ari Fleischer said today on Outnumbered also makes sense..he said that whenever lil Rocket Man would talk to the Chinese President, his whole attitude changed..so something stinks with North Korea AND China.

One single MIRV’d missile from one submarine could completely destroy the entire DPRK in a matter of minutes. I hope someone in the military there has explained that to the Supreme Leader. It would make Hiroshima and Nagasaki look like a bad hair day.
