A Bronx man who suspected his pregnant fiancee of cheating on him repeatedly stabbed her, killing her unborn child — then fled with her cell phone so she couldn’t call for help, cops and sources said Tuesday.
Oscar Alvarez snapped during an argument with Army vet bride-to-be Liv Abreu at their apartment on Walton Avenue near East 165th Street around midnight, grabbing a knife and plunging it into her six times, cops said.
As the 26-weeks-pregnant Abreu lay bleeding in the fourth-floor apartment, Alvarez then spent about an hour cleaning himself up before running off with her cell phone and car keys, the critically wounded woman told detectives from her hospital bed, according to sources.
Her unborn child — whom she hinted on social media was a girl — could not be saved.
Alvarez was charged with murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.

As you describe, it seems like it would.
While I understand the result of Roe vs Wade, opening up the door for abortion, I’ve not studied the arguements made at the trial.
It does sort of seem like a mine-field for pro-abortion logic, if I understand your thoughts here.
Even “the Notorious RBG”, who agrees with the ruling, says it was bad law and incorrectly decided. (She thinks you can find abortion rights elsewhere, but not where Blackmun found them.)
That’s an interesting comment by her.
I wouldn’t expect her to address that “dogmatic ensconsed law” from that perspective, even though she thinks it provided the right relief for women.
