The answers go to the credibility of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s claim that it didn’t open an official counterintelligence probe into Trump-Russia collusion until July 31, 2016....
One mystery concerns Mr. Halper’s interaction with Trump aide Carter Page. The New York Times reported on Friday that Mr. Halper’s contact with Trump officials happened only after the July 31 launch of the probe. The story notes that Mr. Halper reached out to campaign adviser George Papadopoulos “late that summer” and then to Mr. Page “in the ensuing months.” A Washington Post story adds that Mr. Halper sat down with Trump official Sam Clovis on either “August 31 or Sept. 1.”
But Mr. Page tells us he actually met Mr. Halper in mid-July, at a symposium at England’s University of Cambridge, where Mr. Halper is an emeritus professor. Mr. Page says the invitation to that event came much earlier—the end of May or early June.

The event was titled “2016’s Race to Change the World,” and headlined the dueling perspectives of former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and former GOP Congressman Vin Weber.

"Dueling" is not the word I would use. They practically had their arms around each other pleading for open borders.
Weber is GOPe - all in for mass cheap labor immigration and replacement of natural born Americans and free trade de-industrialization of the USA.

Seems somebody with airfare cash with want of something to do wanted Mr. Carter Page somewhere within reach of Mr. Halper.
I have to say I do not know what to make of Carter Page. Has he not been a paid FBI informant in the past?

They had to plan and go through HR and do the paperwork before hiring the guy. Then train him for what they were looking for. That could have been months of effort before he got to work and weeks of prep once he was onboard.
He did just get hired on July 30 and get to work on Carter Page on the 31st!!!
I think it’s safe to assume that Carter Page has been a CIA/FBI asset for nearly his entire adult life — just like Stefan Halper.
You do know why they did this, right?
They had to get him off American soil to entrap him and be able to use foreign intelligence tools to engage surveillance.
You know who else was offered an all expenses paid trip to London (off American soil) and $3000 cash to write a policy paper in September 2016?

You know who made that offer to him? Good Ol' Stefan 'You know about the Emails, right George' Halper, that's who.
Stupid-simple answer. Hate to even write the term “Occam’s Razor.”
