If I understand this judge correctly, Twitter and Facebook are common carriers and can be regulated like TV stations and the phone company.

It's still okay for Twitter and Facebook to delete anyone they want, though, apparently. Judge is some lib NY beeotch, probably another Obama or Clinton appointee. And she can shove her ruling up her stupid fat ass. Thanks SpeedyInTexas.

Does that make Twitter a public utility then? Or is it still a private company? Slippery slope toward state-owned media.

Evidently, that’s his premise.

Heck, they remove Twitter posts when they express views from the Right.

Now the president can’t do what everyone else can.

Silliness abounds...

The courts are losing any respect they ever had. Leftists, destroy everything.

All President Trump has to do is IGNORE the so-called “Judge” and block whomever he WANTS. The so-called “Judge” has violated the separation-of-powers doctrine, and the impotent “Judge” can in no way enforce his so-called “ruling” anyway. PERIOD!

I totally get the argument that Trump uses his Twitter feed to disseminate information relevant to the general public, and, as such, no one should be deprived of that information.

I'm not a twitter user, but I think that a "block" only means the twit can't post to you, not that they can't see their posts.

But why just Trump? Shouldn’t the same rule apply to any and all public officials with Twitter feeds, e.g., mayors, senators, governors, city councilmen, et al.? If Trump can’t block users, then why can they?

Exactly. If this idiot of a judge's ruling were to stand, it would mean no elected official could ever block someone on twitter. If not, I'd really love to see the "reasoning" behind having this policy only applying to the president, and not any other elected official.

My understanding is that a user may be blocked from reading the feed.

Blocking helps people in restricting specific accounts from contacting them, seeing their Tweets, and following them.

This judge is an idiot.

There is no basis for such a ruling.
