I think you’re underestimating the amount of hatred blacks have ginned up for Republicans; there’s no logical reason for it, but as a voting bloc they are irretrievable...

Yes, but Marsalis has been criticizing rap since it started, which makes no sense.

The music of today bites in all formats, but like you say old school rap was real good stuff.

As far as blaming the music for the societal problems of blacks, that’s just as misguided as Tipper Gore criticism of rock in the mid 80’s.

Marsalis should be blaming all of the white communists he hangs out with for the regression of blacks in American society since the 1960’s.

When so called country artists starting “rapping” is when I erased all the country stations from my radio presets.

They have totally destroyed a good type of music
