A resurgence of tropical moisture is expected to further increase the downpours that spell good and bad news for the southeastern United States as Memorial Day holiday weekend approaches.
There is no end in sight to the unsettled weather pattern that has developed over the Southeast.
Showers and thunderstorms will continue to jeopardize sporting events and outdoor plans in most communities on a nearly daily basis through the end of May. As is typical, the afternoon and early evening hours will be the most active times of the day.
Another surge of tropical moisture will be the culprit behind residents facing more storminess instead of welcoming bright sunshine just prior to the start of the holiday weekend.
With this increased moisture will come another round of frequent downpours later this week and into the holiday weekend.

Water is a good thing.
We’ve had 4.25 inches in three days.
Looks like more is coming...
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. There appears to be Weather.
Has this ever happened before?
Here in the Ocala, Florida area we had a real dry spot in early May - so much so, I had to drag out the sprinkler for the bushes, etc. Now, except for Saturday, it’s been raining off and on, with some heavy downpours, for like forever. Leach field is probably flooded, too....
are the swamp creatures seeding the clouds to keep the swamp full? ;-)
It’ll be interesting to see if they can run the Coca-Cola 600 this coming Sunday night.
We have had 9.5” of rain in the month of May up here in my little Cow Town of 288 souls. Our usual for the month is 1.5”!
Rain again, today. We have had only THREE days this entire month without rain. I worked for 6 hours on Saturday to get my garden planted. It’s crazy!
P.S. But a drought season is predicted for us later in the season, so I’ll shut up now, LOL!
After noon showers. Keeps the lakes at full capacity. Most well and good.
10+ inches here Hobe Sound, FL. I have had to release water from my pool 3x already. Am so sick of the rain.
Good news, no wildfires right now

Speaking of water...is it just me or has anyone else noticed that SoCo has lost its SMOOTH taste lately???c

They can’t cause panic about drought so instead will be the mosquito crisis due to all the rain.....I live in Fla. and have seen this before. There’s always gotta be a crisis to keep people on edge.
Nowadays every time two clouds bump together it gets a name. Watching the weather channel is becoming more and more difficult.
We need the rain for the grass to grow in the pastures. We raised beef cattle in rural Florida.
We were having to move the cows once, sometime twice a day, because the grass was so short and almost not growing.
This series of rainstorms is a God send. Our cows are finally happy munching away on new grass sprouts. The drought is over.
