Rod Rosenstein asks DOJ inspector general to review possible Trump campaign infiltration
Washington Examiner ^ | May 20, 2017

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein asked the Justice Department's inspector general Sunday to review whether there was improper politically motivated surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016.

Rosenstein made the request shortly after a tweet from President Trump saying that he would "officially" ask "that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes."

In a statement, Rosenstein said: “If anyone did infiltrate or surveil participants in a presidential campaign for inappropriate purposes, we need to know about it and take appropriate action." The attorney general, Jeff Sessions, has recused himself from Russia-related matters.

Rosenstein’s order says, “inappropriate purposes”. Main thing is that it’s ridiculous if this is the first time the subject’s come up.

The IG can only investigate the doj. It can’t, for instance, investigate John Brennan, civillian, former head of the CIA. Who dan the whole sabotage operation, which started overseas. It can’t compel non-employees to testify.

It’s a crap move by Rosensessions.

We need a new Special Counsel, but Rosensessions ain’t going to ever appoint ons. Congress will have to pass a new law, or convince Trump to order Rosensessions to appoint one.

I truly despise Rosensessions.

I would guess DOJ insiders thought Trump would be gone by now and that all that was necessary was for them to delay the obvious.

"Only if you believe the sessions defenders, Conservative Nuthouse and Q.

Any other rational, person would correctly believe that none of this stuff has been investigated since trump took office. Otherwise they would not refer now to the IG. And in fact if it had been under investigation already Trump would have been told previously and he wouldnt demand i t!"

Ditto what you said. Guess Trump isn't in on the super secret "Trust-The-Plan" plan.

"Note, any criminality is automatically referred to AG Sessions and John Huber.

You have zero proof of that. And desperately wanting something to be true is not evidence. We ALL wish it were true.

Because it’s a pdf I can’t copy and paste it, but the explanation is in the Boyd letter, the last paragraph of page one- he says that the dept won’t confirm or deny any investigation, and while they realize it is frustrating for the public it’s their policy. They aren’t going to tell us anything. We will have to wait for indictments to drop, if they do.

All that you can do now is try to read the tea leaves. We can see the outlines of a major criminal conspiracy just from the few crumbs that have been made public. Horowitz and Sessions know it all in detail. This has the look of being the largest criminal conspiracy in American political history. A prosecution like what we expect will have to be bulletproof. They won’t jeopardize it just to satisfy our curiosity.

"A Special Counsel needs an appointment and takes months to begin from scratch."

Bzzzt! Wrong. It took the same guy, Rosenweasel, less than 48 hours to appoint Herr Müeller, from start to finish.

And you guys have been chanting Huber for months. But you have no proof he's somehow been delegated authority to prosecute crimes that occurred outside his jurisdiction. And Comey walks free.

“The attorney general, Jeff Sessions, has recused himself from Russia-related matters.”

What Russia-related matters? So far it seems Russia has no matters to be found.

So Rod Rosenstein wants the IG to review if there was “improper politicaliy motivated survelliance” of the 2016 Trump campaign. So why does Rod Rosenstein think it is ok to surveil the Trump campaign. This is big time ugly and it appears that Rosenstein is dirty.

You would also need to lock down every assistant, secretary, and any other drone who works directly with either of these two guys.

You don’t do that, it’ll leak long before they make to Congress. Assuming they don’t get attacked on the way there.

I’m getting dizzy with this eternal spin by Rosenstein and Mueller.

1) Fire Sessions

2) Hire Mark Levin

3) Levin fires Rosenstein and Mueller

4) Levin declares issue closed

Institutionalist - even if not dirty.

Lifelong bureaucrats do not see the rule of law as separate from themselves and their institutions.

Andrew McCarthy, the much-vaunted former Federal prosecutor, is a perfect case in point: It took him a year to see how dirty Mueller is; it took us patriots no time at all.

I don’t trust any of them - certainly not Sessions.
