SANTA FE, Texas - A spokesman for police confirmed Friday that they are investigating an active-shooter situation at Santa Fe High School.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured.
KPRC2 has crews headed to the scene.
Santa Fe is a city of about 13,000 people roughly 20 miles northwest of Galveston and 30 miles southeast of Houston.
The high school has about 1,400 students, according to GreatSchools.org.
I am talking about deranged teens who can’t handle guns properly.

This gun nut has gone 60 years without shooting anyone. I carry a gun with me in church and have yet to shoot anyone. In Arizona you can legally carry without any training or license. Avoid the I-19 / I-10 corridor - Drug Alley - and you’ll be pretty darn safe here.
And by the by, any school resource officer with a pistol could have taken the kid down.

Telephone student witness:
Perp was wearing a black trenchcoat, carrying sawed off shotgun.
Witness said shots first heard in art room. Witness was in ag room, one door down. Sub teacher (ag room) and witness went into hall and saw shooter. Sub teacher pulled fire alarm. Witness and sub went back into ag room, heard shooter walking up and down hallway while shooting. School had had ‘shooter’ exercises earlier in the year and says that helped them know what to do.
Witness says school has 3 on-duty safety officials. They are armed.
