Despite angry protests and the threat of a looming lawsuit, the city of Boulder, Colorado, took a bold stand for gun control this week.
Its city council unanimously passed an ordinance on Tuesday to ban the sale and possession of assault weapons, bump stocks and high-capacity magazines becoming one of a handful of cities nationwide that has taken action to change its gun laws in the wake of the Parkland, Florida, shooting massacre.

gawd, there are sure some really sick or crazy people in Bolder, Colorado.. and a few more places nowadays too...
sick!
(ps: compliance...2 percent maybe?)
Well, NOW all those criminals will just have to turn in their guns and stuff!................
Isnt that where a gun free zone got a bunch of theater goers all shot to h3ll? Lets wait and see how many of the boulder residents buy in to this.
Bolder definitely needs new blood on its city council, that’s for sure!
Isn’t there a state preemption law?
CC
Elected Dictators ?
Bold stand my ass
Ignored the will of the people and restricted their constitutional and God given rights to kowtow to a bunch of sniveling punks.
The council should be tarred and feathered and thrown out of office.
The council didn’t do anything. Truthfully.
Colorado is now one screwed up state as it has been Californicated.
Forty five years ago the most popular bumper sticker there was...DON’T CALIFORNIACATE COLORADO!
Well, it has been.
That one’s a classic! LOL
[[And what is their definition of “assault weapon”?]]
Anything that ‘resembles a military rifle in looks’ and any gun that can shoot repeatedly without reloading
“Isnt there a state preemption law?”
indeed there is, and that’s what all the lawsuits the City of Boulder will have to pay to defend are going to be all about ...
Heaven forbid that a law abiding citizen uses their ‘military style weapon’ to stop a crazed gunman - The law abiding citizen will be deemed a felon if they do so
The sob that shot up the theater knew he didnt have anyone that could shoot back. He then ran out and put his guns in his car trunk. So he wouldnt have a policeman light him up. Brave huh? Not. Dont try that crap in Idaho. I go out hoping everyone else is carrying too. Less mischief that way.
No they didn't, they even said as much:
Interestingly, during the debate, Boulder council members agreed the bill stood as a mostly symbolic gesture.
They have zero power to enforce this. Anyone in Boulder with an "assault rifle" can just flat-out ignore this "law," and absolutely nothing will ever happen to them.
The American cities are pretty much dead to the Constitution.
This city ordinance is in effect a Democrat disarmament order. 90% of Democrats live in cities. Conservatives should fully support city rights to tax and regulate within city limits. If a capitalist sells a socialist enough rope they will hang themselves.
