Texan here for those who are focused on the residence of posters. I lived in CA for five years (job related). The state had a great number of places to visit. Once the job crashed and burned, I was delighted to return to TX. Those of us attacking CA are saying that the state is overrun with renegade leftists from the statehouse to judges. The majority of residents of the state are responsible for putting the leftist renegades in office. I feel sorry for those honest conservatives (including relatives) that have to live with a gulag government that violates first and second amendment rights. I would NEVER live there again and negative migration from CA is an indicator that a lot of current/former residents feel the same.
If you live there and have hurt feelings about the attacks on your state (government), then deal with it. Those who want to know the residence of poster may want to attack the residence of the poster rather than defend the arrogance of CA government. If so, go for it, Bucko.

state government, we welcome them. What gets many of
us torqued is some dumb-assed blanket comments made
about ALL Californians as if there are no conservatives,
even here at FR. And, as you would prefer that I asked
fellow FReepers from Texas about Texas issues before
I pop off about your state, a number of Cali FReepers
aren’t too receptive to wannabe experts from elsewhere
who get their 411 from the idiot MSM.

So, now you are saying that the points you made in
post #7 are the same ones you made in post #42? That
wouldn’t pass the smell test anywhere. Words mean
things. From here on out you’re getting yourself into
real headshaking territory. I believe you when you
say you were born and lived in California for 60 years.
But if you want to claim your points haven’t evolved
within this thread then you are risking credibility.

That is a true statement, not unlike saying the GOP is D.C. is well hidden.
I would say you're a bit obtuse if you don't get that we Patriots on the Right expect more than Leftist Light from the basically invisible GOP. And CA has a really bad case of Leftist Light in their GOP.
That the health of the California GOP is very poor is
a valid point. To ask if the party even exists smacks
of genuine smartass. Similar to the national level there
are no major newspapers that will give the GOP a break
in the state so we can’t expect any support there.
But unlike the national level we have no statewide
Limbaugh types on the radio, just a few local radio
people here and there. Likewise, there is no statewide
FOX which, admittedly, is true for every individual state
but on the whole we have less ability to get our word
out than does the rest of the nation. No media source
cares about Democrat corruption which is inevitable in
any one party ruled state over time.
The 4.5 million CA votes for Trump was the third largest
number of votes for him from all states. Still we were
out voted by a bunch. For you to rhetorically ask if
there is a Republican Party in California was unnecessary
especially from someone who knows better. It wasn’t that
long ago that a Democrat governor was recalled even tho
he was replaced by a RINO named Arnold instead of a
legit guy like Tom McClintock who had no statewide name
recognition particularly at the time.
California suffers from being a nice place to be in
terms of geographic options and climate. The Demos
were smart enough to use a sympathetic media and
Hollywood to gain a stranglehold so they could run
off a bunch of middle-class peeps and bring in a large
number of sure fired supporters.Th
What we don’t do enough of at FR is ask each other for
input regarding the status of our various locations.
Instead we pretend to be experts based on the bias
of the MSM, what they say and what they don’t say. The
interesting question you could have ask was how
Cali conservatives viewed the campaign for governor
rather the typical question usually posed by the
typical “me too” hater.
Like any highly populated part of the country we need
cross party line voters to elect a Republican these
days so whether we like it or not we will not get the
GOP candidate you and I would prefer. Reagan days are
long gone....for now. Even to slow down the pace of
libtardism beats what we’ve had. FYI, as if you are

Yep. I wasn’t only the cost of living there and I’m sure not alone.
California culture in general is a real downer. Now my cost of living is about 1/4 of what it was in SoCal. The people are friendly. The traffic isn’t ridiculous. Gas is $2.20/gallon. Personal Spiritual values are common. Homelessness is low. For crying out loud look at the representatives for that state.
I will never ever go back there. Ever. And will never advise anyone to move there. The weather is great however. Gotta admit that.
But if you want to raise a child in Cali....man....get the heck out and do it soon.
And now ya tell me ya didn't leave CA due to the cost of living, but then you go on about how much cheaper it is in Alabama...

The DUI laws are so predatory its disgusting. And this is just one crooked cop. I’ve talked to a lawyer about it. She cant believe what actions cops do to ‘legally’ railroad someone with existing DUI laws. Lets say you have a glass of wine and get pulled over for talking on a cell phone. You get a DUI. You go thru all the BS to get your license back. Then a cop runs your plate within 2 years after that and pulls you over for whatever reason he makes up. You’re completely sober. BUT, your friend in the passenger seat is not. Guess what? You get a 2nd DUI. Its crazy. Cops there stalk people for this very sort of thing and bring in millions into the city, county, and State. And they get rewarded for it.
California citizens are getting screwed by cops, at the gas pumps, for property taxes, housing costs, low wages because so many illegals will work for way below the prevailing wage for skilled jobs.
If you make $1.5million+ its fine place. for the rest of the 99% its a drag. Please stay there.
