Is Falls Church considered Northern VA? I thought it was
OK when my brother and I flew our dad to see the
WWII Memorial just after it opened.
There are dumpy areas everywhere. Last Fall I rode the
Amtrak to San Luis Obispo from Sacramento. Along the
tracks on the outskirts of the Bay Area are disgusting
homeless encampments brought to us by Jerry Brown and
the Democrats. I can’t believe all of Northern VA is
a dump, however.
They paper over the decay with government money here. Falls Church might look ok but that’s because a large number of people get decent sized checks from the government and othrs feed off of that. But go down to apartments behind strip malls and you will see fixer cars on the street being fixed. Same as the barrios in California although not as bad here, yet.
Which 9 counties and 35 cities ?

Oh yeah? Go walk into the Ontario Mills shopping center ANY time. Ontario Mills is the largest shopping mall and outlet mall in San Bernardino County, California. It is located in Ontario, California, and with 28 million annual visitors.
Listen to the language of the young people especially the young women. Casually observe all of the tattoos on the young men whom you know have done hard time.
Then take a 20 minute drive due East and check out the city of San Bernardino and drive around that $hthole for an hour. Go see the abandoned international airport while you’re there.
All of Cali is not like that I agree also. Just waaaaay to damn much of it!
Maybe it’s time to recognize that the California Government with Moonbeam at the helm is about as socialist as it can get. Where are those freaking 4.5 million voters when it comes to kicking out the Trotskyites?

Interesting you say that. That was my suggestion many years ago people should be ID'd by their state which was ignored. The reason many don't run a state flag, is because it makes it real easy for them to attack every other state, while keeping theirs hidden.☺ And what's interesting, is most members in CA run the flag...

And do you think the language there is that much different from language at a mall in Cincinnati? or Indianapolis? I doubt it...You are throwing out some anecdotal opinion but no facts...
Much of my family is located in California. They have lived there long before libs took over.
My son moved out there several years ago due his career...in San Jose...tech...I have friends who have done the same.
Son has said he HAS to live there because with the exception of Idaho (and that is one company so it is “ify”), there is no other state in USA that has jobs in his field.
Freepers are way too quick to stereotype all people in a certain geographic region...and some tend to wish ill will on certain cities/states. “Let quake take out San Fran” “Let nuke take out DC” etc.
I think it reflects poorly on FR and conservatives.

has taken in so many of their rejects.
And the police helicopters that fly over ALL of that area EVERY weekend with their spotlights on are doing an airshow right?
I’m talking about Southern California. Where the vast majority of California citizens and non citizens live. Where corrupt police and a dysfunctional judicial system are everywhere. Where there’s a liquor store on every corner.
I feel sorry for your son. He HAS to live their should tell you and everyone something. Only one company in his field? dang. What field could that possibly be? Sounds like he needs to expand his skills set as the chance of there being no companies in his field anywhere are very likely.

Supposedly high real estate costs are driving Californians out more than saintliness. We can afford to be saints pro-Trumpers) outside their state.
We outside can say how can they be so stupid as to vote to make CA one party Dem state and then have it destroy all decent values? The good people minority never wanted that.
A fellow FReeper chastisted me 2 weeks ago and told me not to forget the good resistance people who fight the Dems in CA and not write them off behind enemy lines. He was right.
