MT. PLEASANT, Iowa Law enforcement, including agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, swarmed a Heartland business Wednesday morning.
The site of the activity was the Midwest Precast Concrete facility on Washington Street in Mt. Pleasant. Law enforcement on scene said that agents from ICE were serving a federal warrant at the location. They declined to make any further comment, but referred KTVO to the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa. That office has declined to comment on this case.
A representative with Midwest Precast Concrete also declined to comment on Wednesday's incident.
A Mt. Pleasant High School student was among the gathering of family members and others watching the scene unfold.
Oscar Lopez, 15, told KTVO that his father and approximately 60 to 70 others had been taken into custody.
"We really don't know anything," Lopez said. "ICE officers just said that they couldn't give us much information...that they were going to transport them to Cedar Rapids or Rock Island, (Illinois)I believe...and from other people that we've heard...they said around 9:30 in the morning ... officers came in and told everyone to get on the wall."

If illegals were found, hopefully the business operators were also arrested.
Now, if they would hit some of the livestock operations and the railroad and barge terminals, and construction sites, Iowa could be great again.
KEEP IT UP BOYS
I lived in IA 30 years ago and even back then was surprised at the extent of the Hispanic population, some illegal I assumed.
If illegals were found, I hope the business was fined and the illegals deported.

Jim Bowie sits straight up in bed and says,"So we're pouring concrete today?"
Omit one ‘L’ in Holy...
This raid is great, the problem is that we need at least one of these every day.
At least.
If they’re hiring illegals, off to prison.
Works for me.
If the company kept records it is unlikely you get your wish. Iowa does not require E-Verify.
But, but, but.....e-Verify works!!!
If you're here illegally, no matter how long, no matter how many kids, no matter how "clean" your record, you've stolen into this country illegally, used fraudulent IDs also illegally, taken jobs illegally, driven cars, trucks, etc. bingo, yet another crime!!
You're going home to wherever you were born or last lived before breaking our laws, demanding FREEBIES that we Americans MUST PROVIDE to you, according to a bunch of leftie judges and SC!
We have laws and rules, go home, read them and get in line with others who are trying to do the process LEGALLY!!!
Oh and if you truly loved your spouse, kids, grandma, grandpa, auntie or uncle, take them with you when you go.
If you've married a citizen and she's/he's not happy about you leaving, take them with you when you leave!
The all knew before marrying you, you weren't here legally and now need to face those consequences along with you and the kids!!
You have two options, be forced to leave alone or leave now and take your families with you. We don't need to put them on the Welfare Rolls, if they aren't already there sucking us dry!
P.S. Hopefully, we can lock up your employers while this is happening, maybe even force them out of business so other law abiding competitors can take over from them as your employers have never followed the law and cut prices while paying for your cheap labor.
Fined? They oughta be arrested right along with them.
I live in Johnston, NW side of DM. 4 kids through public schools and the only prejudice I heard was about the obnoxious BOSNIANS, the Latinos I’ve met are very polite, however there’s very very few in Johnston.
Regardless deport them if they’re here illegally.
The concrete crew is here.
Are they making slabs for the wall? That would be ironic.
In the early 90’s I noticed the increase in Mexicans when the graffiti battles started in the outhouses on job sites.
Slowly whittling down the dem voter base
