As President Donald Trump pursues his goal of making the federal judiciary more conservative, his fellow Republicans who control the Senate are poised to confirm another batch of his picks for influential U.S. appeals courts to the dismay of some Democrats.
The Senate this week is set to take up six of Trumps nominees to the regional appeals courts, including four from states that have at least one Democratic senator.
A long-standing Senate tradition that gave senators clout over judicial nominees from their home states has been fraying for years, meaning Democrats have less of a chance of blocking appointees they oppose, as they did with some success during Republican former President George W. Bushs administration.

I love when morons posing as conservative say Trump has no ideology
Iirc trump stated a couple of weeks before the election on national tv that he would appoint mostly if not all federalist society judges. To me It was blunt and shocking in a good way. At the same time I was a bit concerned since I had the feeling that most voters don’t know anything about the legal profession and about the federalist society in particular. So I was concerned that trump had off the deep end in alerting his liberal enemies of his plans while not really gaining much of anything in terms of new supporters... I could have well been wrong...
I could not agree more. That would have been the final nail in the coffin of the USA.
For this I credit the Lord almighty for his mercy upon America!
Amen to that, Rose! That's the very first thing I said when Donald J. Trump was announced as our 45th President.
Great use of the Administration’s time. Good to see it!
The country would already be FINISHED if Hillary had won, simply due to the judges (including the Supreme Court) rubber stamping everything she did, without bother to consider Congress.
...
You’re absolutely right, but how many women voted for Hillary simply because she has a vagina (that no man wants to think about)?
(that no man wants to think about)?
Webb did
BUT THEY SHOULDN’T BE AS CRITICAL AS THEY ARE!!!
Hired for life.
What do they think they are, teachers? :)
All he did was donate the genetic material.
Never Trumpers abounded here and a very very long list of them were expunged. I’m sure a few are still lurking in the shadows...
There’s two types that opposed him from the republican party:
1. Those who idealize themselves as perfect conservatives and will never vote for anyone they consider imperfect for one reason or another. They put their petty self and their huge opinions above the best interest of America. And they have done this repeatedly for decades. The FOOLS gave us Carter, Clinton and BHO.
2. Those who stand to gain financially and politically through the power of his republican opponent winning the nomination and losing the presidency to the opposition. SNAKES abound.
The opposition here fits primarily into the first category.
Not to mention those so called “purists” who threaten to sit on their hands next time if every single jot and tittle doesnt go to their liking now.
One new judge for the 9th Circus!
Last Friday and Saturday, our judges delt Mueller a fatal blow
Pettifoggery
An unscrupulous or unethical lawyer, especially one of lesser skill.
“An inn, or a tavern . . . these are places where greasy citizens take pipe and pot, where the knavish pettifoggers of the law spunge on their most unhappy victims.”
If, ‘We The People,’ through President Trump, can get this accomplished, it will have ALL been worth it.
FU, Socialists! It’s so WONDERFUL seeing someone play HARDBALL with The Enemy. And make NO mistake; members of the Socialist Democrat Party ARE The Enemy!
MAGA! So, SO HAPPY! :)
Turtle MUST GO.
Ditto~~~~ and since I jumped on the TRUMP train
I have NOT been disappointed at ALL ~~ God Bless
Our President and protect him !!!!
Not if McTurtle has anything to do with it! Why hasn't he asked for more votes on judicial nominations, huh?
Wish it were more.
Where are the Never Trumpers to complain about this. Or to explain how Hillary appointing judges would have been better.
