A woman whose arm was torn off by a crocodile wasn’t going to let a lost limb get in the way of her wedding -- and she managed to walk down the aisle just days after the gruesome attack.

Zanele Ndlovu, a former national tennis player, got married to Jamie Fox on Sunday at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where she’s recovering from the crocodile attack, The Sun reported.

"...Dunno how a White fella survived in Zimbabwe this long..."

And THAT is the story that needs to be told - The story of his survival, if not existential then economic.

Well, I don’t think we’re living in a ‘real’ world, so much as a schoolhouse. What lessons we subjectively take might be determinative of....something ;-)

Half of all fisrt mariages end in divorce. Second and third marriages fail at increasingly much higher rates.

If you do not learn from what is going on around you, its your choice I suppose. People failing to learn from history.

Perhaps the first failure instilled so much conviction of failure, that failure was the predetermined result of all further attempts.

We become what we believe with conviction - it plays out in our further experience.

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”

“Let it be unto you as you have believed”

&c.

It seems to me that people who become convinced of the absolute truth of negative experiences just lock themselves in, dig themselves deeper into more of the same.

People who make effort to take bad experiences more lightly, objectively, and don’t assume that they represent a rule or an ultimate truth, are much more free.

Nothing to do with belief.

I am talking cold hard statistics gathered from actual marriages and divorces.

80% of divorces filed by women. Half of all 1st marriages end in divorce and its in the 60s percent range for 2nd, and 70s percent for 3rd or more. As a man you are nuts to get married knowing these objective statistics.

Individuals beat the statistics all the time, in every area of life.

But, never mind.

Would you get on a plane with a 50-50 chance it is going to crash? And hen the second lane, a 60+ % chance it crashes? And the third plane, over 70% chance it will crash?

Or are you going to sit there and say “indviduals beat the statstics all the time?”

You really do underestimate how damaging divorce rape is to a man.

Ignore the statistics and common sense. Go ahead. Plenty of guys never thought it would ever happen with their little cupcake, but it did.

Dunno how a White fella survived in Zimbabwe this long, but may God bless and keep their marriage and make sure that they become one flesh! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I imagine most blacks and whites in Zimbabwe get along fine, in spite of the government.

I’ve never been on an aeroplane; but if I really needed to go somewhere in that way, I’d go despite statistics, and expecting the best outcome.

You seem to be a very jolly and engaging man. Maybe you’ll appreciate these little ‘grooks’ from Piet Hein:

“Naive you are
If you believe
Life favors those
Who aren’t Naive”

“Experts have their
Expert fun
Telling us things
Can’t be done”

“The road to wisdom? — Well, it’s plain
and simple to express:
Err
and err
and err again
but less
and less
and less.”
