It is only now coming to light how Asst. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein essentially appointed the Special Counsel to take over the counterintelligence investigation originally begun by the FBI in 2016. Also previously unknown: part of the initiating mandate included the special counsel being granted use of a sketchy FISA Court Title-1 surveillance warrant initially applied against Carter Page in October 2016.

Unless anyone can provide information even suggesting otherwise, your statement, sadly, appears to be true.
The only other explanation is that someone has something substantial on Sessions that has totally compromised him. Given that the FBI is involved, and that Comey, Mueller, Szrock, and other scum had absolute access to every FBI file, this appears to be very plausible.
Also, the FBI was responsible for vetting Sessions’ security clearance for the Attorney General position. The issue of meeting with foreign leaders (and specifically with Sergey Kislyak) that was the reason Sessions was forced/asked/told to recuse himself is linked to that FBI review.

Who were the FBI agents involved? Who from the FBI interviewed Sessions? It would be no surprise to find that this poison pill was planned and planted by those connected to Comey, Szrock, and other members of their cabal.

Manafort is alleged to have received cash from Ukraine in 2005. IIRC, Ukraine was a state independent from Russia. Therefore, no cash was received from Russia,this no relevant connection to the investigation.

I have been in hundreds of meetings. After the meeting, people would be doing strange things and I’d ask why and they’d point back to the meeting as the reason. In most cases no such things were discussed. People imagine things or make them up to suit their agenda. That is why meeting minutes are critical. (On that point, I often skewed the minutes to suit what I knew needed to be done and not once did anybody call me on it. Of course, things ended up getting done, which was, after all, the purpose.)

I for one have always thought that Sessions IS the much discussed “insurance policy” sent to Trump in the hopes of the AG appointment. Once appointed, Rosenstein and the rest have free reign to continue their corruption using Sessions as their authority.
What made it obvious was the “in your face dinner” on the same day that Trump criticized Rosenstein. Sessions is a disgrace and if he had an ounce of decency he would resign. Worthless pile of garbage!

They will, once they have completed their “investigation”, which may never end. The crooks will use every known and unknown loophole known to man or beast to circumvent the law. They all need arresting and jail time.
Some of the comments after this article are just hilarious. Many are seeing through this sham of an investigation, except maybe someone like Trey Gowdy and his group. I would love to see this judge bring in Mueller and Rosenstein and put them in separate rooms and interrogate them each about what they thought Mueller’s scope of investigation would be. Bet the stories won’t match.

It is time for everyone to lay their cards on the table.
Mueller needs to lay out his evidence on everybody he is “investigating”. If he’s got a pair of deuces or better, then let’s see it.
