FBI will not collect Page, Strzok messages on personal accounts, despite top GOP lawmaker's request

An FBI official says the bureau is not working to collect messages between anti-Trump FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, despite the request to do so from a top Republican senator as well as evidence suggesting they communicated about “work-related” matters on non-FBI accounts.

In a letter this week to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, Charles Thorley, the acting assistant director of the FBI’s office of congressional affairs, said FBI employees are “required to adhere to record keeping policies in place where communications constitute records under the Federal Records Act.”

But Thorley said “the FBI is not otherwise obligated to collect and/or retain all communications between its employees.”

FBI believes they’re above the law.

Same for IRS, CIA, etc. They’re all a bunch of swamprats.

Enough is enough.

It is time for congress to tame both the FBI and the DOJ.

It needs to be done in such a way that no one ever forgets the results of denying congress information permitted under the Constitution.

I suggest starting by firing or impeaching everyone in the top four levels of management and filling those positions from within.

If that does not work, as they say wash, rinse and repeat until a staff is installed that recognizes that the government must be operated as described in the Constitution.

Maybe it’s just me being old school but since when do subordinates tell their bosses what they will or will not do? This Wray is a real damsel fly.

The DOJ has oversight over the FBI. Could it be that Rosenstein has directed the FBI to refuse the House’s request??? He IS the one who calls the shots.

“Freedom of Information Act requests mean NOTHING anymore.

Even court subpoenas of records mean nothing.

Thanks Obama.

I think RosenWeasel’s wife is a big player in these matters.

Jeff Sessions no longer runs the DOJ.

Rod Rosenstein runs it.

Fine. Nunes can subpoena them and all of their electronic communications if Grassley doesn’t first.

Does Wray want to risk exposure of what the FBI refused to provide to Congress? We’ll see.

Just my guess here, but I think that’s because they already have sufficient damning evidence on their official accounts. No more is needed.

That’s like saying they won’t request my cell phone records after I robbed the bank because the bank cameras have clear video of me, my fingerprints are all over the place, and the ink dye packs in the loot exploded all over me as I walked out of the bank in into the waiting paddy wagon.

Actually there are still many facts which we do not know.

It is not even confirmed that the Strzok-Page “affair” was real. It has been reported that the “personal” messages were redacted. Why? In this day we can handle reading raunchy sexual messages. Its the only way to be sure the people know what the facts are. Also those messages would not be privileged redacted in any other legal proceeding.. like a divorce.

In all fairness to the FBI, they are sort of busy right now trying to round up President Trump’s toe nail clippings. What a joke this whole Russki bull**** has become. Bonzo’s “17 intelligence community agencies” are all a bunch of commie crooks.

Congress can pass legislation adding the requirement for
these agencies to (CIA, FBI, IRS, Homeland Security, etc) to
to cooperate in all matters with Congress. In addition,
Congress can modify the charters of these agencies requiring to require them to cooperate. Not to mention impeaching and removing those individuals who don't cooperate.
