The supposed political peril, real or imagined, is part and parcel of the phony investigation.
Create a hoax investigation with a hoax political storm to tie Trump’s hand. Some of these Republican Congressman who go along are just as much traitors as the worm is.
I must believe Sessions is being blackmailed. He was one of the first to support Trump in the campaign, but upon becoming AG he has been the firewall between Trump and any prosecution of a litany of crimes committed by the prior administration.
Sessions is blackmailed into being nothing but a figurehead and Rosenstein runs the show. Sessions is ordered not to quit, and the RINOs in Congress refuse to confirm any replacement if Sessions is fired.
So all of the crimes uncovered by Devin Nunes, the IG report and journalists like Sara Carter go unpunished. This stalemate may continue through Trump’s entire term.

He has become a worthless impediment to Trump’s Presidency.
People who have known Sessions and been his friends and supporters for years are calling for him to resign. They are not “haters.” They are deeply disappointed as are most people who were once delighted in his appointment as AG. No one could have predicted this turn of events, but it is the height of self-imposed blindness to continue supporting the indefensible.
Drop the crack pipe and slowly step away from the keyboard.
The only way Jeff Sessions can salvage his tour as Attorney general is to Un-Recuse himself from the Mueller Investigation, take Supervisory Control of the investigation away from Rosenstein and then begin to wind down the whole thing. Anything short of that, he should resign.
He’s been totally undermined by his boss and has to rely on his old friend Mitch McConnell now just to function, since actually wanting to enforce border security and looking out for American workers is not a thing that will happen in D.C. otherwise. Session’s is in an unnecessarily bad position.
He does not need to personally discuss the investigations for us to see that he is grossly negligent in pursuing Trump, and grossly negligent in not pursuing Hillary or the pile of misdeeds in the DOJ. Those are no laughing matter.

I’m beginning to think that blackmail is the only feasible explanation for Sessions’ lack of action. I know this sounds paranoid to some but what else can explain it?
Or maybe Sessions really knows that the IG report will be the bombshell that will bring the Deep State down, and he is just biding his time until that report is released.
Sessions is the cause for all this BS. Trump should tell him to tell Mueller the witchhunt is over. If Sessions refuses he should fire Sessions and Rosenstein.
That was said about the previous IG report. We wound up with “lack of candor” and the deep state marches on.
Horowitz is SES, same as Mueller, Rosenstein, Huber, and... Jeff Sessions. Nothing will come of it.
Sessions is a Deep Stater and that’s the reason he’s not resigned. An AG is supposed to support his boss or resign. Sessions wants Trump kicked out of office.
