John McCain in New Book: I’m (Going to Die,) Freer Now to Speak My Mind

In a new book, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) writes that his battle with brain cancer has given him a sense of liberation to vote and speak his mind.

“This is my last term,” McCain writes in his upcoming book The Restless Wave, which he co-authored with former adviser Mark Salter. An excerpt of the book was posted Monday on Apple News.

“If I hadn’t admitted that to myself before this summer, a stage 4 cancer diagnosis acts as ungentle persuasion,” McCain continues. “I’m freer than colleagues who will face the voters again. I can speak my mind without fearing the consequences much. And I can vote my conscience without worry. I don’t think I’m free to disregard my constituents’ wishes, far from it. I don’t feel excused from keeping pledges I made. Nor do I wish to harm my party’s prospects. But I do feel a pressing responsibility to give Americans my best judgment.”

While I wish him well in his battle with cancer, I don’t care what his mind tells him to tell us. He has nothing to say to America, IMO.

So he’s finally admitting that every election cycle he lied about being a conservative and a “war hero”?
‘bout time.

My take on this, is that the implication is that politicians don’t feel free to speak their minds, don’t feel free to share views and what they believe with the voters who give them their jobs in the first place.

It sounds funny for someone to explicitly say this.

Translation: McCain will reveal what a rotten leftist creep he really is. Might even tell us why he threw the 2008 election. If he really feels liberated, he may explained why he turned Commie while a POW in Vietnam.

Yeah, he doesn't have to face those horrible voters like the rest of the GOPE cowards.

Here's my plan - we tell these yahoos if they have to lie to stay elected they need to find a new line of work.

John, your memory will be swept into the dustbin of history but many of us will never forget how you betrayed us and threw us under the bus repeatedly. You slandered us and maligned us every chance you got because we wouldn’t go along with your big spending, corrupt democrat buddies.

So he uses this as an excuse to go against the wishes of those who voted for him...he thinks this makes him a “maverick” but he’s just a traitor....

US Senators must vote on the Senate floor, no phone in votes. When is Senator McCain going to Washington?

NO REPUBLICAN would have won in 2008.

The economy was in bad shape. Bush destroyed the economic gains of the 1980s and 1990s

The only Republicans that would have won in ‘08 would be John Elway or George Allen, celebrities.

...his battle with brain cancer has given him a sense of liberation to vote and speak his mind.

Yup. He's free to speak his mind. However, his inherent lack of intelligence, coupled with the brain cancer, result in him having nothing to speak of...

First of all he probably didn’t write a word...staff and consultants more likely.
His days are numbered.
