Both political parties need to go away. They only represent their own interests, not the interest of the country.

There are not two political parties. There is only one political party pretending to provide a choice; a choice which the Party controls. Uniparty. Status Quo. Deep State.

There are only two political parties in the USA: The Pro-America Party, aka the Trump Party, and the Anti-America Party, aka the Democrat/Republican Party.

Breitbart’s story is not “fake” news, but what it leaves out does make it misleading.

It ignores most all Gonzales background and gives the only great detail when it says:

“Anthony Gonzalez is backed by the Republican Party establishment and he just moved [to Ohio] from San Fransisco,” the ad states. “Gonzalez is the swamp’s choice.”

Here is a lot more on Gonzales, and readers can judge the man for themselves.

Gonzales is an Ohio native whose father fled Castro’s Cuba and his mother is the daughter of a World War II veteran.

He played football for Ohio state where he graduated, before playing pro football for the Colts and the Patriots.

He got an MBA from Stanford Business school, which is why Breitbart refers to him as “from San Francisco”.

His father is the president of Ferragon Corporation, a steel-industry company in Ohio.

“Her Wikipedia page was written by her opposition.”

Wikileaks has been absent from the social media censorship discussion. Snopes, too. Yet a great many people are aware that content there is censored and biased.

I just want honesty on such sites (FR included): mostly, a very noticeable home page statement of political, religious and/or social preference, support or intent. Truth in labeling, just like with food.

Jim makes it plain here: “Established in 1996, Free Republic is one of the earliest and largest online gathering places for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We’re working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!”

Good post, thank you. That Breibart omitted information like that is indeed misleading.

However, any candidate supported by uniparty-nevertrumptards/cheap labor express shitheads like Portman should be viewed suspiciously.

I agree the GOPe cannot generally be trusted. Then again most Cuban-Americans I know are conservative in many ways, like Ted Cruz. On the other hand, Gonzales seems a “recruited” candidate, with no independent move into politics before.

Whereas Hagan has already been active in Ohio GOP and is an Ohio state house rep. Then again, she may been seen as an outsider in the district she is running for Congress from, having moved into the district only this January and just 13 days before the deadline to file for her candidacy. She may be “pro trump” but she may also be seen a bit “extreme” to some, having backed a bill in the Ohio state legislature that would ban all abortions after six weeks, including cases where there was rape or incest. Not everyone who is “pro life” makes that case. And her stance in the 2016 election was she was for either Cruz or Kaisich. To me there is a lot of distance between the two, so I don’t know where that means her real principles are. Maybe the Freedom caucus backing is too one-dimensional, too single issue based, skipping over other points that may not be so Conservative. I know she comes from a political family and her bio says she has wanted to run for elective office since she was 12. That’s a lot of “political” ambition, but I am not sure how much Conservative principles plays a role in it. I’ll be looking to see what is consistent in her, or if she just does more pandering to issues she thinks will gain her support.

Yes, that is the problem with supporting Hagan. I live in the district and have followed her political career from its beginning. She was a college student in her early 20s when the seat her father held just a few years earlier (he was term limited) became open after the new rep resigned.

Her dad pulled strings and a party committee voted her into office. It was a pathetic abuse of power. And to make matters worse, her brother, an employee of their father’s HVAC business with no other life experience, is now running in the primary for her seat in the state house. Again, pathetic.

I always said I would never support her nor her family for any race, but the Gonzalez ties to the anti-Trump establishment are cause for major concern.

Smart move to do your candidate research these days, but I guess that's what primaries are for.

As an aside, I will never, ever vote straight ticket again. The government we get is our own fault.

Anthony Gonzalez is a former NFL football player they recruited to run for the office - so the people who wanted him to run donating money has to be specifically to “stop” another candidate even though they almost certainly would have given him this money if the other candidate were not running. Peyton Manning, his former teammate with the Colts, has also donated to Gonzalez and I seriously doubt that was given to “stop” the other candidate, either. The way this article is written is just plainly absurd and embarrassing.

The article is written to get the readers to draw false inferences - this is no better than tactics of many drive-by media articles.

That said, both of these candidates are young, fresh faces for the party. It is a shame they are running against each other in the same race.
