Read President Trump's comments about Candace Owens and Kanye West, two prominent black celebrities who have endorsed him.
"Kanye looks and he sees black unemployment at the lowest it's been in the history of our country, OK? He sees Hispanic unemployment at the lowest it's been in the history of our country. He sees, by the way, female unemployment -- women unemployment the lowest it's been in now almost 19 years. He sees that stuff and he's smart. And he says you know what, Trump is doing a much better job than the Democrats did," Trump said about West.
On a historical note, Trump also remarked: "People dont realize, you know, if you go back to the Civil War it was the Republicans that really did the thing. Lincoln was a Republican."
The Republican Party "changed over the years," he added. "And I will say I really believe it's changing back."
"Remember, I was going to get no black votes?" he asked. "I was going to get none? Well, I got a lot. I got a lot of support."

He doesn’t know what he is talking about. Republicans have always been far more the party of Abraham Lincoln, and Democrats have ALWAYS been far more the party of Jim Crow.
He doesn’t know his history.

GOP Is "Changing Back" To The Party Of Abe Lincoln LOL! I've been on enough Civil War threads to know just how much that would anger some of the people around here.

The Republicans were once the party of Lincoln, and then they became the party of multinational corporations and globalist NGOs. There is still a strong wing of that in the Republican party, and that is where the real fight in Washington is.
President Trump's agenda has not be thwarted by Democrats; it was been thwarted by crony Republicans.

President Lincoln was not a racist. Franklin Roosevelt and John Kennedy were racists.

Lets not re-write history. Lincoln didn’t support equality for Whites and Blacks.
5 Things You May Not Know About Lincoln, Slavery and Emancipation
https://www.history.com/news/5-things-you-may-not-know-about-lincoln-slavery-and-emancipation
- Lincoln wasnt an abolitionist.
- Lincoln didnt believe blacks should have the same rights as whites.
- Lincoln thought colonization could resolve the issue of slavery.
- Emancipation was a military policy.
- The Emancipation Proclamation didnt actually free all of the slaves.

Completely agree.
Bush League Republicans would rather lose than allow Trump to restore the rule of law.

He doesnt know his history.
It’s not that he doesn’t know his history. Rather, he’s using the opportunity to show who the R party is NOW. And it is for the listeners that don’t know their history. The ones that already know the history are not the audience for his comments.

The Republicans were once the party of Lincoln, and then they became the party of multinational corporations and globalist NGOs. There is still a strong wing of that in the Republican party, and that is where the real fight in Washington is. Lincoln's backers were the 1860 version of "multinational corporations and globalists." Lincoln got strong support from New York and the wealthy people involved in International trade in that city. His official policy was "Mercantilism" which is basically a form of government involvement in Industry, and the use of government policy to further growth of industries.
He was a corporate rail road lawyer, and his connections were with the biggest of the big in that era.
Lincoln himself became worried about the influence of these international corporations.
We may congratulate ourselves that this cruel war is nearing its end. It has cost a vast amount of treasure and blood. . . . It has indeed been a trying hour for the Republic; but I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war. God grant that my suspicions may prove groundless.
Lincoln to (Col.) William F. Elkins, Nov. 21, 1864.
President Trump's agenda has not be thwarted by Democrats; it was been thwarted by crony Republicans.
They are the same thing. Our Government is a "Uni-Party" ran by a co-reinforcing sphere of influence between Washington DC and Corporate Globalists in New York. (Mostly.)

I think it’s you with the comprehension problem. So the Republican globalist party transferring wealth and jobs out of the country has been in the interest of blacks? They along with the Democrats helped to create economic slavery for blacks instead of freeing them with jobs and opportunities. The Dems have just been smarter at blaming one side while the clueless globalist Repubs played along. President Trump seeks to reverse that and thus create true economic freedom for blacks.

Yes, Lyndon Baines Johnson was a virulent racist who ruthlessly used the "Negro problem" to advance his own fortunes. He rarely used any other word than the N-word. And the Kennedy's were only marginally better.

Don’t let Democrats off the hook.
The crony Republicans can thwart Trump only because they can form a majority by working with the universally obstructionist Democrats.

No, Lincoln was not a racist. Anyone who plays that game is sliding down a slippery slope. By current standards, anyone who was of white European descent, American or not, born in the 20th century or earlier is a "racist". Lincoln was no different than any other American in that regard.
It's an old trick used by liberals to marginalize anyone they don't like.

I will say then that
I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, [applause] ---that
I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will for ever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality.
And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race. I say upon this occasion I do not perceive that because the white man is to have the superior position the negro should be denied everything. I do not understand that because I do not want a negro woman for a slave I must necessarily want her for a wife. [Cheers and laughter.] My understanding is that I can just let her alone. I am now in my fiftieth year, and I certainly never have had a black woman for either a slave or a wife. So it seems to me quite possible for us to get along without making either slaves or wives of negroes. I will add to this that I have never seen to my knowledge a man, woman or child who was in favor of producing a perfect equality, social and political, between negroes and white men. I recollect of but one distinguished instance that I ever heard of so frequently as to be entirely satisfied of its correctness---and that is the case of Judge Douglas' old friend Col. Richard M. Johnson. [Laughter.] I will also add to the remarks I have made, (for I am not going to enter at large upon this subject,) that I have never had the least apprehension that I or my friends would marry negroes if there was no law to keep them from it, [laughter] but as Judge Douglas and his friends seem to be in great apprehension that they might, if there were no law to keep them from it, [roars of laughter] I give him the most solemn pledge that I will to the very last stand by the law of this State, which forbids the marrying of white people with negroes. [Continued laughter and applause.] I will add one further word, which is this, that I do not understand there is any place where an alteration of the social and political relations of the negro and the white man can be made except in the State Legislature---not in the Congress of the United States---and as I do not really apprehend the approach of any such thing myself, and as Judge Douglas seems to be in constant horror that some such danger is rapidly approaching, I propose as the best means to prevent it that the Judge be kept at home and placed in the State Legislature to fight the measure. [Uproarious laughter and applause.] I do not propose dwelling longer at this time on this subject.
