Now we are talking about reparations? Why now? Americans elected our first black president, gave him full control over both houses of Congress and high support from the press. Why didnt Obama fight for reparations as president?
Its the same reason Democrats dont really fight for DACA they only want to use the issue. It is their technique to paint Republicans as anti-black. If Congress were to ask for reparations, it would really be great to see Trump out-Trump them again as he did on DACA. He should ask them to propose a bill for him to consider. This would panic them, because their playbook requires us to only argue and defend ourselves, never really considering the issue.
Lets ask our Democrats for a proposal. Lets see how they will pay for it and make them tell us who will get the money. Black leaders who are trumpeting these calls for reparations were quiet under Obama, so they should remain quiet today.
Have you had enough, folks? Talk shows, call-in programs and the print media push the old dream that would not go away: Reparations! Give me my 40 acres and a mule! I cant go on with my life until you have made me whole. Has anyone really taken a good long look at what black people are asking for and what we are saying about ourselves?

My white ancestors never held slaves and never own a mansion.
The Democrats have morphed into an anti-white party. They lost white males.
Let them keep it up.
Call me a cynic but aren’t the gigantic welfare state that we have created and race-preference policies such as affirmative action reparations? We’ve spent what, $50T on the “war on poverty” and a lot of this went to helping blacks supposedly.
Sure, reparations. Let the Democrats pay it. They are the party of slave owners, slave economics, human trafficking, “Jim Crow” race oppression, lynch mobs, firehoses, and generalized race obsession. They committed the crime, let them make good on it.
We’re Republicans. You’re welcome.
Identity politics and the race card.
Democrats are doubling down cause that worked so well for them in 2016.
Along with the woman card.
Not just males. They ran THE female candidate and they still didn't take the white female vote. White females voted for Trump 52-46.
That was what Liberia was supposed to be.
And look what a paradise a Black-originated, Black run country turned out to be!
they pass that and I will refuse to pay Federal taxes on the grounds that my family wasn’t even in America until 1951, just like a lot of these hands out demanders of reparations have no relation to any slaves. Oh would that mean that these people could go after the relatives of the very first acknowleged owner of Black slaves..........a Black man?
White people liberated slaves
Black people and Muslims enslaved them.. and still do to this day.
As a white person I am owed reparations from those of African descent.
When do I get my check from them?
I can claim an exemption due to my ancestors fighting on the side of the yankees and a black man in our ancestoral home town was allowed to use out last name. So there. LOL!
I’ve paid. Not a cent more.
Throw them a bone. A $20k check for those born before the Civil Rights Act in 1964 with an ‘acknowledgement’ that it was wrong. That’s it. Take it or leave it. They’ll squander the money but so will they’re poverty pimp overlords.
“our”. not “out”. Thumbs!
How about, not. Gazillions since ‘64 to what end?
I like it.......very well said.
OK ... how ‘bout a check for $1,000 and a one-way ticket to Kenya. Conditions are: you can never come back ... if you are caught in the USA, death penalty for you and any known relatives that may still be in the USA.
I agree with Walter E. Williams: Every living American who ever owned a slave should pay reparations to every living American who ever was a slave.
Anthony Johnson has a lot to answer for as do almost all the US tribes ...
40 Acres and a Mule to every Living former Slave.
Sounds fair to me. The Clinton Foundation can write the Check.
