"Never underestimate the stupidity of the American electorate..."

FBN was discussing this AM a Gallup poll showing voters (by a significant margin) DISAPPROVING of the GOP/Trump tax cut.

You just can't fix stupid.

Sorry, but your analysis is wrong... I live in PA-18 and Connor won, because the entire GOP ecosphere’s messaging never reached out beyond the core....

The messaging was terrible, it never gave anyone beyond the hard core base a reason to care or show up. End of the day, GOP left 50k votes from the last midterm on the table... Dems showed up, even reliable R’s did not.

They ran a tired old campaign message that NEVER reached out beyond the rabid base, and as such, no one but the rabid base showed up.. the D’s angry about Trump showed up.

This was a race that should have been an 8 point win for the R’s, even with a weak candidate it should have never been closer than 5.. yet the entire GOP ecosphere spent 5 Million+ to basically run a tired old Rove campaign... where the only message being offered was simply the D will be a pelosi rubber stamp, and that’s it. That was NEVER going to win that district.....

The GOP is heading to losing the house this fall, if they don’t wake up to the reality that they need the MAGA voter, and its there for the taking if they just wake the hell up.

I live in a purple state, in a mostly red county, in a town Trump won narrowly but could have lost. So I’m qualified to discuss how f***ed up the GOP is.

The problem is this: The country club GOP (which is at least 30% of the usual GOP vote) despises Reagan/Trump Democrats. They hate them because their hands get dirty when they work, they smoke, they drink American beer, and they fart sometimes. That’s it.

The ccGOP expects full turnout among socially inclined conservative voters (both Republican and Democrat) because, well, because Democrats are bad.

But they will not return the favor. The ccGOP will stay home, vote for a liberal Democrat who knows which fork to use, or join #resistance before they will vote for a Republican candidate who will MAGA, because if there’s anything that is against the class interests of the ccGOP, it’s MAGA.

That’s it in a nutshell. If Trump does not kill the GOP (and it’s probably too late), they are going to kill him, and us.

Why would I even consider voting for a Democrat?

Because there are Democrats who are not as antagonistic to American workers as ccGOP candidates are?

Nonsense! Even if this was true, anyone with a brain would acknowledge that Democrats only care about government jobs and not private sector jobs. Look at what is happening to employment with President Trump and a Republican Congress. I guess American voters want Democrat scandals and the misery that comes with socialism and communism.

Again, it doesn’t matter what the D’s say or do, they have enthusiasm and momentum and know it.. and its all about hate/stop Trump...doesn’t matter what else they do or say the Trump Haters and Left Wingers are going to show up in droves, and all evidence shows this.

The thing about politics is simple, and most people get lost in the weeds.

The fall will be a referrendum on Trump for the Democrats.. and a Referedum on the GOP for everyone else..... PERIOD.

Dem and Trump haters are going to Crawl over broken glass to vote against Trump which means they are going to pull the D lever.

For everyone who isn’t in that category the fall is a referendum not on Trump, but on the GOP... IS the GOP doing what the rest of the folks want??? And the reality is, the faithful R’s will show up to vote, but the rest, the I’s and the non traditional Trump voter and Cross over D, are not going to if the GOP hasn’t given them a reason to... and messaging that is just excuses... Oh the D’s are bad, The D candidate is just a Pelosi Clone... etc etc etc... Will NOT motivate these folks to show up and support you.

The GOP has not give these folks a reason to care... and if they don’t wake up and change their messaging and actions nothing is going to save them this fall.. short of stupidity by the democrat party.

IF the dems run openly on Impeachment, then they make the fall a referendum on Trump for everyone else as well, and if that happens the R’s will win 20+ seats in spite of themselves.

Since the GOP largely has not gotten on board with Trump, the fall election is not a referendum on Trump to the I’s and non hard core R voters.. as such, for them it will be a referendum on the GOP and for most of that group, they aren’t being given any reason to care or show up.. the GOP isn’t even bothering to talk to them.

Yes the tax cuts are great, but to think that in and of itself will win you the fall??

Democrats thought Obamacare would win them the 2010 midterms... and how did that turn out for them?????

The losses this fall won’t be 2010 level, but there is no doubt in my mind, short of major change, the GOP will lose the house.

Look at what your "Republican Congress" is doing to help President Trump.

Get back to us when you find something.

The Dems media and some freepers treat this as a repudiation of Trump

I still see no reason for any reasonable person to vote Democrat. What do they have to offer? Scandals, higher taxes, lower employment, more illegal immigration more international strife and a path to Venezuelan-type government. Maybe Democrat voters want the US to be like Venezuela. Actually, I see Democrat voters as falling into two categories—those who despise any sense of morality—they want more abortion and more death due to homosexuality, etc. They want no restrictions of any kind of any morality. The rest of them are so stupid they believe that it is possible for everyone to have the same level of lifestyle without working. They lack the ability to think of consequences to actions.

My dad’s family is from Hudson Falls.
He was the only one who left after he got out of the Navy after WW II.
All of my cousins still live in that vicinity, though most are in Glens Falls or Granville now.

Most of these creatures are from the CIA. Repubs are wise to double-down on intelligence incompetence and NSA intrusions, whoops, a lot of that came from a Republican Congress and the Bush Admin. Fun times ahead.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We MUST get rid of the Bush League Republicans, particularly in the Senate.
That is where the Uniparty is.
I grew up in a little town called Cornwall, just down the road from West Point. My paternal granddaddy was from Mississippi, and was served at USMA in the 30’s and 40’s, he was significantly older than my grandmother. My mom’s side had been in the Valley since before the Revolution, they came from Scotland during the Highland Clearances. Orange County has been reliably Republican, for years. It’s starting to turn purple now, due to the influx of folks escaping the City, Westchester and Rockland.
"Its damned near incompetent what the GOP is doing... they truly have no clue who the electorate is."
Incompetence or intentional? The GOPe House doesn't have the guts to impeach Trump directly, but they will be more than happy to collaborate with a Pelosi Democrat House to impeach him. They hate Trump as much as the Rats. He has upset the Uniparty kleptocracy and they want him gone.
See Post 66... it explains the dynamic we are in and going into into the fall, and if the GOP doesn’t get its act together, it will lose the house this fall. It won’t be a 1994/2010 type of loss, but it will certainly be enough to lose the house.
