I didn’t insult you, but you insist on being insulting. All I will say is that I will put my medical knowledge, diagnostic and procedural skills, as well as my research productivity and innovation up against anyone you’ve ever met, in any country, ever. If you honestly think that physicians in the US are incompetent and less skilled than those abroad, then you should seek all of your medical care elsewhere.
Regarding costs in Germany, this is a country in which 77% of health care is government funded, and people earning more than EUR 52,882 per year are subject to a tax rate of 42% (not to mention all the other taxes paid). Feel free to move there. Or, you can push for socialized medicine here, but then one would have to ask what you are doing on this particular conservative site.
Well, you wanted to go personal instead of responding to the valid points I made.
So I did respond to you, in kind.
And I did understand why you did so, as you can’t refute my argument.
The Government also controls to money supply to teaching hospitals, and you can bet the AMA makes sure there are fewer doctors and nurses because they don’t want the competition.
Thank you for proving my point.
If you honestly think that physicians in the US are incompetent and less skilled than those abroad, then you should seek all of your medical care elsewhere.
I do now and fortunately Ive been productive enough in my life to have the liberty to do so.
Govt in our country consumes 37% of GDP
in Socialist Europe its about 43%
you honestly think thats a big difference ? In 1912, our govt consumed 7% of GDP. Thats liberty
You had a point?
What was it?
Funny, how you avoided the question. Yes, lawsuits for med mal drive up costs. But when you go for surgery and the like, you have an expectation not to be killed, maimed, or fighting for your life, unless it is a risky procedure. Yes, doctors are human and make mistakes. There are bad eggs in that profession as in any other job. It’s just that their mistakes can be life changing. So you tell me, if you went in for a routine procedure, such as a colonoscopy, and caught MRSA, that caused you to lose a leg, or whatever, would you sue? And why, why not?
I didnt avoid the question. I just ignored your blather.
If you went in for a ... procedure , and caught MRSA, that caused you to lose a leg, or whatever, would you sue? And
why, why not?
I would not. Just going to ‘visit’ in a hospital is a risk you take of infection .....Anyone can get MRSA on their body from contact with an infected wound or by sharing personal items, such as towels or razors, that have touched infected skin..... MRSA infection risk ‘increases’ when a person is in activities or places that involve crowding, skin-to-skin contact, and shared equipment or supplies.
MRSA spreads on contaminated objects as well... through direct contact with athletic or gym equipment etc.
Too many people are NOT active participants in their health care.....you should always investigate your illness and the treatments. Also be aware of what your record states. And if you have questions ask, don’t just sit back not be involved.
It’s at the top of your empty, round head.
Good for you. Yes, MRSA has been notorious for being present in gyms, etc. But for those who have not frequented a gym, or ever been in one, but simply went to get a procedure at the hospital, clinic, etc., and end up fighting for their lives, losing quality of life, etc., because the facility is supposed to take the steps to avoid this, have a right for a remedy. A guy that used to work for me, his mother went in for a standard non-risky treatment, caught MRSA, and died. I could easily see caps on the awards, and not millions. But the facility failed and a person died, in this case. Its not an easy solution.
There are combined BA/MD programs. Most of them don’t do much to shorten the time or cost: they’re 8 year programs. A few shave a year — even two years off — and allow students to complete both degrees in seven or even six years. Maybe part of the trick is to enter with advanced placement credit for non-scientific subjects.
You are sure free with the personal attacks, but not even a whisper from you over my charges that faithful Muslims are ordered to kill us infidels.
It may not be me who has the empty head.
Again when you enter a hospital it’s the risk ‘you’ take regardless if just a procedure or serious surgery. We all ‘want’ facilities as clean and infection free as possible and hospitals are keenly aware and they do take steps to avoid infection both before and after procedures/surgeries. But to even imagine there is no such thing as A “non-risky” medical facility is not reality...
As for the ‘right’ for a remedy if something goes wrong. You have the right to choose which facility you go to...Dr. etc. And short of absolute negligence law suits hurt everybody .
This is going to the Admins.
Thanks.
There is no question lawsuits affect everyone on some way, usually indirectly through increased costs. Yes, assumption of the risk does play into this; however, AR does not cover all violations. Anyway, patients who are injured due to the medical facility and/or personnel who fail to provide the medical standard(s) of care, need to be compensated. I believe Texas was working on capping the damages on this some years ago. Regardless, you and I are at a standstill on this topic, so I am done. Thanks.
What, you don’t like that I take you to task, and then you turn me into the mods?
LOL! What a wuss you are!
And I’m going to point out that after all of the personal attacks on me by you, this was my first comment on your personality.
It pisses me off to no end to hear people complain about medical costs. One only has to compare the availability of specialized medical care in Ontario to that in S.E. Michigan and see what is available........
More than likely, your life saving surgery in Ontario will be performed by a general surgeon rather than a specialist..........
As for MRI's, don't even get me started. There are at least a half dozen facilities within a 10 mile radius of my house where I can get in to be evaluated within a week...........In Ontario, you're lucky to be seen in 6 months..........
