Hope I live to see every day North Koreans with access to an abundant food supply and modern medication and the knowledge that it came from everyday Americans.

I agree.

Reagan freed up all of eastern Europe and areas on the southern border of Russia too.

Both men will wind up freeing up people around the world. It would be hard for Trump to catch Reagan there, but if he could calm the Middle-East, it would be another amazing feat.

Essentially Kim vowed to "suspend" his NUKE/ICBM project. He also said that their nuke and ICBM development are complete. The question is whether he will give all of them up. Starting from production facilities to components to finished products. Or a few of hardware. Can U.S. find them all and ship them back to U.S. in a short order?

Can U.S. and China have the will to sustain their full commitment to complete denuclearization? Especially China who seems to be still playing a game. What set Trump apart from previous presidents is his willingness to go for distance, using every means at U.S. disposal. Economic sanction to China, a renewed tie to Taiwan, and serious commitment to military action if it comes to that. These are tools the previous administrations have never dreamed of using. If he stops half-way, it would be still better than what sorry bunch of previous presidents did, but not enough to really dismantle NK nuke/ICBM program.

There are some political pressure even among Trump's constituency to take whatever seems to look nice and declare a victory. The real problem is China, but It is Trump they are complaining about because of (probably) economic fallout to their business. Trump did not create the problem, but China and N. Korea did. If people have problems, they should picket Chinese Embassy.

I heard on Fox News that Fat Boy wanted US troops pulled out of South Korea but that was nixed.

Agree — it’s exciting!

Kim may sense that in Trump he has a real chance to turn a corner. That somehow Trump isn’t rooted in establishment thinking and instead, as a business guy, is willing to make a break with old thinking and move forward into new possibilities.

I for one am willing to quit mocking Kim’s hair if he is willing to do the right thing.

Trump’s willingness to deal is going to align perfectly with the mood in South Korea, which is fundamentally reconciliatory towards the North. But he also is going to hold the line.

Best of both worlds, I think/hope.

Yep. I picked up on that as well. That doesn't sound like someone giving up nukes. It sounds like someone saying - mission accomplished - my nukes are developed and tested ... so ... now ... where's my money?

Less savvy people are jumping WAY ahead.

I like what you have addressed there, and I agree with the issues you touched on.

To tell the truth, I’ve been a bit nervous about the Korea’s rejoining what with Leftists always around to screw things up.

As you touched on, I think Trump will guide the proceedings in a productive way.

My thoughts run along these lines with Taiwan too. I’m not anxious to see them join the mainland, but they seem to want to at some point.

We can’t stop what these folks want to do, and the best we can hope for is a smooth transition, if they are determined to do it.

“He pulls this off... or even just gets an official end to the Korean War, THAT will be nothing short of earthshaking.”

It took me a few years to shake the “I can’t believe it” when the Berlin Wall fell and the Soviet Union broke up.

The disbelief when this one happens will take a while to shake off too.

Kim said his nuke and ICBM development is complete. What's he supposed to say, "Trump's breakin' my balls so I'm shutting this sh*t down"???

Of course he's going to say what he said!

I am 59 years old and President Trump is the very first President in my lifetime, or anytime, that has called the Norks on their bluff, and told Russia and China to back off and stop feeding the wolf.

President Trump is in no way a politician and he knows how to handle people and not rely on ignorant political advisors who have never had a real job in their pitiful lives. He is the perfect man for the job as President.

Let us pray that the Norks really mean it, but even if they think they are playing a game President Trump will call them on it and they will have to change anyway.

It is pretty obvious that the sanctions hurt badly and for the first time..... they cannot look to China to get around the sanctions.

Yep. China cannot afford to wage a financial/trade war against us as we are their biggest customer and their entire economy is built on the edge of a razor that is sitting half off the edge of a cliff.

Trump hasn’t broken anything in NK yet. So far it is just talk and tweets. We will see what happens.

Oh please please please bring Un to MaraLago and play a round with him. Send Trump Force One to pick him and his entourage up. Have industry leaders for him/they to meet with. They basically have slave labor. Why not NKGA. Hell, hand him a red hat with that logo after he deplanes. Have the SS take him to strip clubs, apparently they are into that. Have Un leave thinking this was the best time of his life. This is his and the NORKs future should be on his mind as he heads back.
