You summed that up succinctly. Being conservatives ourselves, it’s possible that we don’t fully grasp the depth of the Left’s hatred of Comey. As long as he’s trashing Trump, certain public figures have to pretend to respect him. In their own enclaves no such formality exists.
For example, I visited DU a couple of days ago. The fury at Comey was off the charts. In many leftist minds he is the reason for President Trump. That burn will smolder a long, long time.

I heard on the radio this morning that a bunch of libtard morons are lining up like crazy (appropriate word) at the bookstore where Comey is signing books in Manhattan. As Thomas Tusser said, “A fool and his money are soon parted.”
I notice he has a cheap home hair-dye job. Unattractive. And some cucumbers needed for those bags under the eyes. He’s creepy.
I’ve noticed how those bags have grown significantly since he was last on camera before his firing..
That current bag-face is not the one of someone living a comfortable retirement life, getting good sleep, playing with the kids, spending some time at the gym, etc. I, for one, take pleasure knowing there is some behind-the-scenes stress that is visibly impacting his appearance.
