Ok,Ok, some change is in fact possible.

I would argue though that in states where the problem s ginormous, the Virginia solution would not be of much help

Unfort., those that allowed the process to begin (aka ‘they got “theirs”) will (long) be buried and forgotten.

Yes, I will be. :-)

Just kidding. I think this thing will start the rapid (as in a day or less) unravel within the next few years. Since I’m only 64, I’ll probably still be here, which is why we moved to a farm in south-central KY in 2011 (which we bought two weeks before the 2008 election). The writing has been on the wall for quite a while.

The only reason it hasn’t happened yet is that their success at kicking the can of inevitability down the road. But each kick is shorter and shorter.

When the GOP loses power, the rats will take money from the federal treasury and all will be fine, again.

Except for PR, who recently got billions despite their corrupt rat leaders. PR may be a test case. It quietly slipped through.

A fat retirement pension is a public service?

It is when public employees think taxpayers are there to serve THEM.

“For reasons you stated major increases in property taxes would be an exercise in futility.”

and yet you good and well that sort of common sense reasoning wouldn’t deter the Dems for one second from trying that ...

What money? We're $20 trillion in debt.

Ha!

Pols are going to have a hard time, I think. The geezers (w/ their wants) vs. Millenials (seeing the ‘geezer squeeze’ + their wants).

When the latter start seeing their wish-list denied while noting their $$ is going to the former’s, whom does the pol side with?

An aging, dwindling voter block or the growing voter block?

As Ayn Rand wrote, you can ignore reality, but you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.
