Andrew McCabe, onetime acting FBI director, leaked a self-serving story to the press and later lied about it to his boss and federal investigators, prompting a stunning fall from grace that ended in his firing last month, says a bombshell report released Friday by the Justice Department's internal watchdog.
Inspector General Michael Horowitz, appointed by President Barack Obama, had been reviewing FBI and DOJ actions leading up to the 2016 presidential election.
The report, handed over to Congress on Friday and obtained by Fox News, looked at a leak to The Wall Street Journal about an FBI probe of the Clinton Foundation.
The report says that McCabe authorized the leak and then misled investigators about it, leaking in a way that did not fall under a "public interest" exception.

Released on a Friday? must be bad news
I am sure the volume of indictments will be stunning. Think I will watch some reruns of gilligans island in the mean time
BOOM??
Our G-men are no longer what we thought them to be now that they have been led by a dirty cop.
explosive my butt. He was not candid, that is the extent of the accusations. It’s a nothing burger. Unless he was a Trump supporter, then it would be a capital offense.
Our “G” men are still “G” men.
As in “KGB.”
Plus, I didn't see anything about the wife's funny money (bribery).
So much for an Obama appointed IG. Can’t wait to hear the rest. Yawn....
Underwhelming.
“He was not candid, that is the extent of the accusations.”
In the report there are repeated references to a legal rule with the title “lack of candor.” What they are saying is that he is in violation of this (law? Rule? Policy?). The violation of this rule requires firing. Did he lie? Yes, the report is clear on that. But the lack of candor is the reason and the name of the rule he broke.
Similarly, Comey’s original letter on Hillary stated that she was grossly negligent in her handling of classified information. That was the exact statutory language that would have lead to prosecution. Macabe changed it to “extremely careless,” which means the same, but is not statutory language and therefore would not lead to prosecution. These are bureaucrats and they live in a kabuki theater type world that is different from the world the rest of us live in.
So, is the FBI going to raid his lawyer’s office now?
A polite way of saying you lied under oath.
Very underwhelming.
The IG could not even use the term perjury.
Instead, used the term candor.
No criminal referral.
Just a mention of passing the report to DOJ for disciplinary action.
A nothing burger,
Thanks Sessions.
dud.
Investigation = Matter.
Perjury = Uncandor.
another qanon dud. How many more lies are the qanon cult going to believe before they realize they are being played like monica Lewinski with a cigar in the oval office?
Everyone should read it. Confirms what we already knew. One thing I gleaned though is that it looks like Comey set up Mccabe to be the fall guy. The reason that it was released today was the day after clips of Comey’s interview with Stephanopolos were aired. McCabe will be forced to take down Comey for self preservation.
I was gonna say.....I skimmed it. Yawn!
