Huge procedural accusation. What he was covering up is treason.

Well, for me and you it would be lying, but the FBI it is just a matter...

Is there a law against “lacking candor”?

I used to be really afraid of lacking candor, so I picked one up pretty cheap at a garage sale. Blue.

“Is there a law against “lacking candor”?

Yes, when they drop the Politically Correct term. HE LIED UNDER OATH. What say you Jill McCabe? Two peas in a pod.

Is there a law against “lacking candor”?

That is the FBI's term for "you're up sh*t's creek."

From today's release:

Lack of Candor

The Offense Codes Applicable to the FBI’s Internal Disciplinary Process punish FBI employees for “lack of candor.”

Offense Code 2.5 (Lack of Candor – No Oath) prohibits “[k]nowingly providing false information when making a verbal or written statement, not under oath, to a supervisor, another Bureau employee in an authoritative position, or another governmental agency, when the employee is questioned about his conduct or the conduct of another person.”

Offense Code 2.6 (Lack of Candor – Under Oath) prohibits “[k]nowingly providing false information in a verbal or written statement made under oath.” Under both offense codes, lack of candor is defined to include “false statements, misrepresentations, the failure to be fully forthright, or the concealment or omission of a material fact/information.”

If he is a lawyer, licensed to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction, it is grounds for disbarment. That’s how Scoter Libby and Bill Clinton lost their law license.

“Lacking candor” is DOJ speak for prejury under oath, or during an interview.

Lacking candor means deliberate lying. He committed perjury.

“Is there a law against “lacking candor”?”

Not likely. I think some folks here are suffering from premature glee. I’ve not seen anything yet in the report that says actual laws were violated. Sounds more like McCabe is just having his wrist slapped for violating FBI code of conduct.

For FBI agents, “lacking candor” means lying and/or withholding pertinent information and is a direct firing offense that’s in the same category of insubordination.

McCabe lacked candor, including under oath, on multiple occasions

You asked...

Is there a law against “lacking candor”?

Under oath? Yep.

I believe that’s a “matter” for the Feral Department of Matters.

It is akin to perjury in a criminal setting. But it is not criminal. I am not an attorney, but IIRC it can carry civil penalties. Not sure how it would affect a law license. I imagine it would be grounds for dismissal

"Is there a law against “lacking candor”?"

Maybe, but no reasonable prosecutor would bring charges.
